Chapter 7 :- The First Attack

Time: Next Week

It was again Mt. Iacon in the wee hours of the morning. Everything was going on as usual, except, this time, Barricade and Phoebe were cuddled together, while Bumblebee and Atlanta were going another round.

Artemis snuggled tighter into Percy's side, hugging him closer. Percy snored gently, and swung his right arm over his new girlfriend. Artemis smiled at her male counterpart. He was really cute. She buried her face in his chest, inhaling his musky scent.

When they had cuddled into bed the previous night, she had to restrain herself from jumping him. One week, she had controlled herself. It was beginning to get harder with every passing day.

But she had to control herself. For her lieutenant.

Artemis felt hollow inside at the thought of her lieutenant. She had known that Thalia loved Percy, too. And she had stolen him from her. She did not mind sharing him with her, but she did not even let her talk to.

Artemis recounted her first attempt one week ago. She had just kissed Percy for the first time, when Thalia saw them.

She had retreated to her tent on the football field, where very few Hunters were staying. Most had taken up residence with a Transformer of their choice.

Flashback

Artemis ran after her, leaving a confused and distraught Percy sitting in his office. She saw Thalia enter her tent. Artemis rushed in after her, taking a moment to admire her lieutenant's tent.

It was black from inside, unlike most of the tents. On one wall, there was a tiara, with a neon blue lightning bolt, marking her as a daughter of Zeus, and the lieutenant of the Hunt. On another wall, there was several posters and fliers of mortal rock bands. On the third side, was her closet. There was a life-size picture of Percy stuck to the wood.

On the king-sized bed, Thalia was lying, hugging her Percy pillow close to her person. Her back was to the moon goddess, and she was facing the wall, curled into a ball. Her body was wracked with sobs, which she would try to suppress, but then she would break into a new fit of sobbing. Her black hair was dishevelled.

Artemis laid her hand on her shoulder, and started, "Thalia, I. ....."

No sooner had she started, than Thalia shook her off violently. She rubbed her face, and sat up, glaring at her with bloodshot eyes. Her nose and cheeks were red and puffy, and fresh tear tracks marked her face.

Artemis looked at her worriedly.

"GET OUT!" The daughter of Zeus shouted at her mistress.

"Thalia, I.."

"GET OUT!!" Thalia followed her sentence up by throwing a dagger at her.

Artemis stumbled out of the tent, and looked at the now zipped up tent entrance sadly.

She looked around to see the few Hunters that had stayed back, staring at her weirdly.

Flashback end-

Artemis was jerked out of her thoughts by a scream from outside. Several more screams followed the first one, echoing throughout Mt. Iacon.

The moon goddess' eyes widened. "Percy." She whispered, shaking him gently.
