"...Why is it so dark?"
Egor was reaching out with one hand, touching the mirror before him; the other was feeling around his face. His tone held disbelief and fear, terror even, and his eyes were wide. Those eyes, which were once a bright cerulean blue, were now a misty gray in color, and were glazed over.
They were empty. And they would never work again.
"W-Why is it so dark? Why??" the boy demanded in a panic. He began to step back, away from the mirror, as the realization began to settle in. He was blind, and it wasn't some big joke or something he could deny any longer. "Where are you?!"
Today was the day that the bandages would finally come off, as the doctor had said that Egor's eyes had fully healed. He had an eye surgery that had complications, however, and it wouldn't have made a difference to the little boy whether or not they were ready to take the bandages away. He was blind now due to said complications, and he was terrified.
"Where are you?! Where!!" The child began to look around himself in a panic, his voice becoming higher pitched than normal. He wanted to cry, but not even any tears would appear; he could only feel a faint burning sensation. Instead, he could only let out a loud wail, his little body beginning to shake horribly.
