Halloween is finally upon us, and I'm actually excited for it. This night is about ghouls and goblins, having fun, and eating candy until your teeth fell out. After the year I'm having, if nothing else, I hope I could have a good time tonight.

"You know, Mia, I totally love that you decided to dress like a goddess." Megan says as she finished braiding my hair into a ponytail.

I turn around and smile at her. "Aphrodite has always been my favorite."

She nods. "I remember. This year, I think the devil suits me well."

I snort. "Definitely."

"Hey!" She nudges me.

"What?" I say. "Too soon?"

Megan chuckles and rolls her eyes. "So what is Jayce going as?"

"Well, Jayce said that he was thinking about being Ares because that's one of Aphrodite's notorious affairs." I answer while putting on a bracelet.

"Isn't that the war dude?" She asks, waving her hand back and forth.

I laugh. "Yes. And it's God of War, not war dude."

"Sounds scary." She says while picking up her outfit and walking into the bathroom to change. " And besides, Greek Mythology is so notmy forte!" She exclaimed.

I fix my white dress, and then slide on a pair of shorts underneath them. I walk over to my closet as Megan leaves the bathroom wearing a short black dress and red horns on her head. "What shoes do you think I should wear?" I ask her.

I hear the springs on my bed contract, and I immediately know that's Megan's designated sitting area. "Well that depends," She starts. "Are you thinking comfortable, but cute? Uncomfortable, but sexy? Or none of the above?"

"Mostly comfortable." I peek my head out of the closet, and stare at her.

"Wedges?" Sheqq inquires.

I shake my head. "Not comfortable enough." I scan every pair of shoes that I have. "What if I just wear my vans?"

"Your what?" She asks in disbelief.

I pick up my black vans and a pair of socks. I sit next to Megan on my bed. "My dress is long so its not like anyone will notice."

She shrugs. "Whatever floats your boat."

A knock on the front door keeps me from replying. ThathastobeJayce, I think to myself. I open the door and see Jayce's smiling face. "Hey, beautiful," He says and kisses me on my cheek.

"Hey," I grin. I look at his gladiator-like outfit. "Nice get-up." I smirk and hold back a laugh.

"Hey," He raises his hand defensively. "This is as close to Ares that I could get."

"Okay," I laugh. "Well, I'm going to put on my shoes, and then we can get going."

He walks over to the couch and sits down with his arms resting on opposite pillows. "I'll be here." He flashes me a smile before I turn around to leave the room.

As I walk into my bedroom, I tell Megan that Jayce is here. I quickly put on my shoes and wait for Megan to be ready. I stare at her. A part of me still feels weird being around her because of her absence in my life. Sometimes I think that I forgave Megan too quickly, and too easily, but I missed her a lot. Jayce doesn't agree with my decision to forgive her, but he says that he respects it. That's all I can really hope for from him: to be understanding.

At times I become afraid that she'll hurt me again, but I'm really trying to trust her. She's trying to regain my trust again, that much is obvious, so I figured I could try too.
