"Chase, Ryder! I found something in the forest. I think you two should take a look at it." Skye was hovering over something beneath her. From what she could see, it seemed to be grey and...shiny? It was definitely reflective, the sun kept bouncing off it and blinding the poor aviator pup when she flew around.

"Chase, go check it out. I'll meet you there."

"On it!"

Whatever was down there, it radiated off a bad energy. Something about it was...off. Skye didn't feel safe near it; not even the advantage of hight was enough to quench her unease. Reluctantly, she decided to lower herself to the ground when she heard her friend's sirens.

Skye made touchdown and hopped out from her helicopter just as soon as her police friend pulled up. Chase walked over to her.

"Where is it?" He asked

"It's over here." Skye lead Chase over towards it.

As they walked, the soft grass and dirt covered ground soon transitioned into crunchy and littered with leaves. A particular step made them both freeze. It was hard, unnaturally hard. Chase's eyes took notice of what Skye caught. A theory popped into the Shepherd's head. He swept away some of the leaves to reveal the ground, it was metal.

Skye walked over to Chase, "What is that?"

Chase stared at the ground beneath them. He looked around the area around them and came to a conclusion. "We're on a metal platform."

"But why is there a metal platform in the middle of the forest?" Skye questioned as she brushed some leaves aside.

"I don't know, but whatever it is, they didn't want people to find it." That sentence sent shivers down the Cockapoo's back. 'What's in there?' She wondered.

Chase's ears suddenly perked up, "Do you hear that?"

"Hear what?"

"Listen..."

Skye moved her big ears around, trying to catch what Chase was hearing. Then she heard it. Voices? They sounded like they were coming from underneath them. They placed their ears to the chilled metal and tried to make out what was being said, but it was too muffled to understand anything. The voices dissipated and the two looked at each other. Suddenly, the ground began to shake.

"Woah!" They both cried.

The ground beneath them began to part. It was like a mouth, two jaws opening. Chase quickly jumped over to Skye's side and they both watched as the ground moved completely dumbstruck in terror.

Then it paused. It seemed as if life itself came to a sudden halt. There was no more movement, no more sound, no more anything. Just the gentlest breeze of wind and the breathing of the two pups. Suddenly, something huge rocketed out from the opening. The wind and shock from it nearly knocked over two pups. Chase quickly turned to identify to object. It was long and pointed, it looked like a......His eyes shrunk to pinpricks. It was a missile, and it was headed straight towards Adventure Bay.

BOOM

He watched it hit the small, peaceful town. It resulted in a large explosion that could be heard miles away. He could feel the powerful blast push up against him, threatening on knocking him down. He didn't move an inch. All he could do was stand there frozen. He felt like an ice statue: cold and stiff. He didn't want to imagine all the lives lost.

"No..." Skye whimpered.

Chase fell onto his rear. The memory of his friends flashed in his head. Captain Turbot, Alex, Mr. Porter, Mayor Goodway, Ryder...RYDER! He remembered that both Ryder and Rubble were in the town during the explosion, Zuma right next to it at the bay. In a panic, he called.
