"A devastating tragedy has hit the town of Adventure Bay. Just yesterday, we got word of a missile attack that had wiped out half the town's population; most of those remaining were left homeless. This attack has caused millions of dollars in damage, but the most devastating are the thousands of innocent lives that were unrightfully taken." The television blared loudly in the quiet dining room of the Porter's Cafe. The broadcaster took her stack of papers and pounded them against the table seemingly to even them out, but in reality was because this news made her squirm in unease, and had to find a way to let go. She had pale-light skin and straight orange hair framing her freckled face. She gave the camera another look.
"It has also came to our attention that another attack was made on the rescue tower, formerly known as the Lookout. Whether the Paw Patrol, the rescue team of Adventure Bay, are okay or not is not yet known to us. As soon as we are given word on it, you will be informed, but until further notice, all we can do is hope. Now there was recently an armed bank robbery. We have our reporter, Natalie Vistica, reporting live at the scene."
The screen showed some lady with a lightly darken skin tone and black, curly hair up-done walking in front of a closed-off bank. There were people crowding the entrance in the background, but none dared to go in. The reporter looked at the camera with a saddened and expression plastered on her face
"Yes, thank you. As you can see behind me, a severe robbery has taken place. These robbers were armed and very dangerous. Unfortunately, they had decided a massacre would be the best course of action. Barely a few survived. Those who did reported four human-like creatures who strangely enough teleported into the bank with a thick white cloud substance. I know, it's hard to believe, but it has to be true if multiple people witnessed this." Natalie sighed and shook her head. "These creatures are still on the run. That is all I have to say. Back to you, Aubrey."
The screen transitioned back to the broadcaster. Aubrey stared at the camera with a dead expression. "A very tragic incident indeed. Also an odd one, at that. Teleporting humanoids are seemingly very scary. I sure do hope to not run into any. We also got word from our second reporter, Micheal Charker. He is currently surveying the scene of military personnel surrounding the outskirts of Adventure Bay. To you, Micheal."
The screen showed a light-skinned, short-haired brunette man staring directly at the camera. "Yes, Aubrey. It seems though the military, and any outside force for that matter is stuck outside Adventure Bay borders. Just take a look." The reporter squatted down and picked up a decent-sized rock. He stood up, aimed, and threw the rock. It bounced off a once invincible wall. As soon as it made contact with the invisible barrier, a ripple of orange radiated from the impact point. The rippling effect lasted for a few seconds before the whole thing went back into complete invisibility.
The reporter stared at the camera with a dumbfounded look. "I...I've never seen anything like this, not in my forty-eight years of living. It is unreal."
The screen showed a split between the reporter and the broadcaster. Aubrey spoke, "That sure is strange. To think that real magic would only exist within the fictional world of television too. What does the military have to say?"
"The military has been trying to enter Adventure Bay, but this force field is blocking all entry. With this, there is no way of protecting the citizens, not unless the Paw Patrol survived the second attack."
'We did survive the attack, but a part of us died with it.' Chase thought to himself as he, along with the others, watched the news on the television located within the restaurant Mr. Porter owned. The restaurant owner had made them all a pity treat of pie. Mr. Porter watched sadly as everyone in the room silently picked at their pie, not showing much interest in actually eating it. As devastating as this was, he was just glad they weren't injured.
