She didn't even remember what she had argued about with the referee. Jisoo had been too late to stop her.
All Lisa remembered was that she saw red and started shouting with the match officials, which got her suspended until the next game.
Lisa left the pitch in humiliation, and got the sombre news from Jisoo hours later. We lost. Close call though. Coach meeting tmrw at 10.
Lisa turned off the group chat and succumbed to her misery. Alone in her room, she buried her face in the pillow and screamed until she was hoarse, replaying the moment the referee dropped the flags, the distraught faces of her teammates and the triumphant smug expressions of their opponents.
Knocks on her door had her groan, because the last thing she wanted was company, and people seeing her snotty red-faced pathetic self in all her Frozen pyjama glory.
"What?" she yelled.
"It's me!" Jisoo shouted back. "Let me in!"
"Go away! I don't wanna see anyone!"
"Well tough, cos' I wanna see you!"
"Go away," Lisa repeated, "you can't come in anyway."
No sooner had the words left her lips than Lisa remembered that amongst Jisoo's many talents was her hobby of picking locks, which she insisted did wonders for her pre-exam anxiety.
A few mumbles and murmurs at the door, then slight sounds of clinking metal, and before Lisa could inhale to yell again, the doorknob turned and the door slammed open, rattling the window panes.
"And that's on challenging me, bitch," Jisoo announced as she sailed in and made a beeline for the kitchen. "I hope you got eggs."
Lisa raised her head to scowl at Jisoo but found herself face to face with a concerned Chaeyoung instead.
"What are you doing here?" Lisa asked, immediately regretting her acrid tone.
"Checking up on you," Chaeyoung said softly, "don't blame Jisoo. I asked to come when she said she'd visit you."
Lisa sat up, averting her gaze. "Uhm, okay."
Chaeyoung handed her some tissues which Lisa used to blow her nose, wishing and wishing she didn't look as crummy as she felt. Jisoo meanwhile fussed about preparing a pot of boiling water, humming to herself.
"What's Jisoo doing?" Chaeyoung asked curiously.
Lisa sighed, though she couldn't help smile a little. "Loser Ramen. She says it helps me get over things when we lose matches."
"You can't be sad and mad at the same time that you're eating a bowl of ramen," Jisoo called over her shoulder. "Everyone feels better with some food inside of them."
"She does make a mean ramen bowl. You should try it," Lisa told Chaeyoung. "Jisoo always makes extra and I can't stop her from using my food either."
"I'd love to." Chaeyoung smiled cautiously. "So...you let her barge in here to cook for you?"
"Hell nah, I'm doing it for me too!" Jisoo scoffed. "But it's a good distraction and I'd rather share my sadness with Miss Grouchy here than anyone else. "
"Not even Jennie?"
"Oh she's a sharp one, our Chaeyoungie," Jisoo remarked, not even pausing from chopping vegetables.
"That's Jisoonese for 'oh shit I'm busted'," Lisa explained in a stage-whisper. Jisoo glared then rolled her eyes.
"Fine yeah, I was gonna make you ramen, eat, listen to you do a play-by-play of the whole thing, come up with a plan to beat the next team and when you inevitably sleep because of the food coma, go over to Jennie's. Happy?"
