Chapter 16: Information

Elise and Ashur stood in front of the Elf with an article of more noble clothing than the rest. It seems that he has a higher rank than the others that is why they both approached the person. 

"I want to ask, what did you observe from the pit when it appeared between the border of the two kingdoms?" Elise asked and stared straight into the eyes of the elf. She seemed to amuse the other race but she doesn't give two cents on their entertainment. 

"How long are you going to stare at a lady? If you don't know the etiquette, then show some courtesy," Elise crossed her arms together and glared at the Elf who was standing still like a statue in front of them. She watched as the amusement inside his eyes turned brighter and he gave a courtesy bow in front of her before introducing himself. 

"Apologies for my rudeness, I am the Prince of the Elf Kingdom, please address me as Anton Giovanni," He said and saw the human girl wave him off. Every elf in the location was shocked as she treats their prince like a stranger, how could a human girl do such a thing?

"No need, Since you're a royalty and I am as well from the same lineage of the King in Geon Kingdom, we have an equal footing right now. Ah! Of course, my lovely younger brother is also sharing that noble title," Prince Anton looked at the person beside the water mage and saw the rabbit beast kin with the astonishing lightning magic. The two of them held a bit of eye contact and he can see and feel the hostility from some youngling. 

"I see... That is reasonable," Prince Anton murmured that made the elves on their camp look at him with a weird look. Prince, when did your IQ went offline? That's reasonable? Their only the Duchy of the Geon Kingdom's children! They still don't have enough title to be on equal footing with your rank! Simply Impossible! 

Elise didn't think anything was wrong with her reasoning, well, she knows there was something with it but because of the first impression she had with this 'prince' she cannot help but be rude and at the same time make sure that he recognizes Ashur as well. 

"Anyways, we want some information about the pit when it first appeared, unfortunately, we have to resort to asking the elves for that," Elise said with a sigh. Prince Anton doesn't know why, but it felt like she was insulting his race. 

"I see, what would be the information you want from us?" Prince Anton asked with a polite smile, Elise turn around and pointed at the pit, before asking.

"Did any of the elves tried to cover the pit from a known distance underground towards the surface?" Elise asked before looking back to Prince Anton who was staring at her with widened eyes. 

"N-No, not really... We didn't necessarily try to cover it because it was a deep pit, the mages feared that it will only be destroyed by the demons," Prince Anton said, a bit nervous and reluctant to say more when he saw the dark look on Elise's face.

"Well, where are those mages? It's not enough to get the information, we have to see the proof too, you know, Prince Anton..."  Elise said and turn to look back at him and raised one of her eyebrows. Suddenly there was someone who approached them from the right, the three of them all looked at him with different expressions: confused, judging, and contempt. 

The Elf who went next to Prince Anton was his adviser, Silvani. He was from the clan of advisers that dated back from the established kingdom of the Elves. He bow down and greeted the two humans in a polite and distant way before he stood up straight and answered their inquiry. 

"The mages who suggested to not proceed are currently sent back to the capital of the Elf Kingdom. We do not force our mages to do something they didn't want and at the same time, they were just people who wouldn't contribute to the war that is why they're dismissed. Lady Elise, did that satisfy your question?" Silvani asked with a polite smile. Elise pursed her lips before going deep in thought, There are some things that only she knows about, like the knowledge she has from the previous world of hers, and exposing it to others while trying to solve the mystery of suppressing the demons from the pit would not be an easy feat.

'If I want to be honest, I want to get all the elemental magic and do the experiments myself, sigh' Elise thought and pursed her lips while thinking deeply. 

Seeing his older sister was still deep in her thoughts, Ashur decided to continue the questions for her. He told the two elves to talk with him somewhere else and left Elise there alone. 

Ashur looked up to the two Elves before asking the relevant questions that Elise might ask towards them. 

"What were the attacks that the Elves made towards the demons?" Ashur asked and Silvani answered him. 

"mostly its fire element and earth element, the fire is to scorch the demons to death while the earth element is to push the demons back down the pit where they come from,"

"Any information on how deep did the earth mages blocked the demons?" He asked again, 

"There's nothing relevant with it, its just that the earth mages pushed them down enough to suppress them going up in a fast pace to the surface but not deep enough for us to measure. though some of them did say that it was only as deep a well, their blocking, I mean," Prince Anton said and Ashur nodded. 

"Any mages with a unique magic?" Ashur asked while looking at the group of elves from his peripheral vision, 

"We have a few, but they are not scouted for this war. They all mostly tasks to guard the capital, so there is no need for them to be around," Prince Anton said and Ahur only frowned at this. 

Just before he could ask more questions, he heard a voice calling for him and his older sister from the other side, it was Sir Blair. Ashur went near his Older sister who created the water bridge again and they went back to the Geon Kingdom's side and went closer to Sir Blair. 

"What is it, Sir Blair? You do know that we are in the middle of gathering information, if you ruin our tempo, then all of you just get rid of the demons and we will go back home," Elise said in a sarcastic tone, Sir Blair knew that he made her annoyed and hurriedly apologized before speaking in a hurried tone. 

"This, be-because we spent so much time here in the borders of Geon Kingdom and the Elf Kingdom, the Academy in the capital sent a letter to the King to ask for approval to have the students have an onsite investigation and help our magic institute to produce more idea and manpower..." Sir Blair said and quiets down, The angry look from Elise's face made him gulp hard his saliva and look away in a nervous reaction. 

This time, the King of Geon Kingdom has really done it...
