Chapter 11.

"Optimus?!"

Optimus still didn't answer me as we raced downtown to an old forgotten industry and factory district. Made sense, it was more abandoned and secluded from other humans. Even the homeless, former one such as myself, and junkies wouldn't ever dare to come out here because of everything being so decommissioned and practically falling apart. Besides that, wherever the signal was coming from, Optimus was tracking it with no trouble and with haste.
"Optimus!" I shouted for his attention again, while I was pointing out the window at a flash of black and yellow. Bumblebee raced down the opposite street in the same pace as us.
"Kiaria, stay alert! Whatever the cost, we must protect Sam! I'll protect you both!" Optimus shouted back.
"O-ok!" I answered after him, terrified as I gripped my seat and my fingernails dug into the leather.
I haven't been in this intense of a situation since the day he found me. Even since then, with all my time and training, this was completely unexpected. Optimus drove even faster, his engine revving angrily as the clocked seemed to tick. I spotted an abandoned building that Bee focused in on and headed off to one side, while Optimus turned to an opposite position of the same place.

"Kiaria!"

"Yeah?!" I shouted.

"Hold on!"

With that, Optimus transformed and I yelped as I flew between mechanisms again and landed in one of his hands. Optimus quickly placed me on his shoulders and I barely had time to grab hold as he started to climb the side of the building to the roof. I finally got a grip and held on so tightly as Optimus then stood upon and ran across the roof to jump up and crash through the glass of a nearby skylight. I could hear screaming beyond my own, what sounded like Sam's and some...others...?

Great....more humans. Was my only thought, but there wasn't enough space to process the whole scenario through my terror.

I grunted at the impact of Optimus landing on the level above everyone and pulled out his guns. A random brick wall below exploded and I spotted, for the first time, Bumblebee's robotic form came crashing through that side of the lower levels and started firing at the two silver giants hovering over a distressed Sam. I nimbly scrambled down from Optimus's shoulder and landed upon large abandoned machinery that met me halfway. I looked up to then recognize one of the silver Decepticons known as Starscream by his record files from my lessons as well as...
Megatron.
He's supposed to be dead?! How?! Was this what the Decepticons meant by The Fallen?!
The Autobots' presence had distracted the Decepticons from what they were doing. I then see Sam ran off from a table he was previously pinned upon as Bee and Starscream started to fight, causing a chain reaction of Megatron into letting Sam go and running off somewhere else.
Two other humans, another boy and a girl around the same ages as Sam, suddenly appeared and ran out from a different area. "Sam!" The female shouted at him.
Sam ducked from the fire and ran off from his captivity as the gunfire continued, sparks flew everywhere. I slid down from my platform and kept close to the machinery, staying out of view. I could only see Optimus, who stood close, turn to me.

"Kiaria! Find Sam and stay low!" He glanced at me briefly as he ordered, then he ran off from my position. Splitting us up.

I was scared out of my mind, but I grabbed IronLuck from my backpack and wielded only the handle in my hand, just in case. This was it. This is what I was trained for. The mission had started.
I ran off to find the human boy, but kept my eyes on the battle. Optimus suddenly jumped up over me from nowhere and did a flip as he started shooting below another open level of the building. I held on tightly to my knife and watched as Megatron jump up from the hidden lower level to join the fight.
Optimus landed and shot at Megatron and Megatron dodged to fire at him back. I dodged the incoming and ricocheting blasts as best I could, sparks flying everywhere and my eyes searching feverishly for Sam because he had slipped from my view. I whipped my head around in the process only to see Starscream sneaking behind reaching for Optimus.
"Behind you!" I warned him.
"Oh, another little pet." Starscream practically purred maliciously as my warning also drew his attention.
Shit!
Optimus turned and slammed an arm against Starscream, sending him flying into a wall. Optimus fired at him until Starscream ran and flew out of a window.
Coward!
