we got to the cabins where we were staying so I shook erica lightly for her to wake up. I woke up about an hour ago so I just let her sleep on my shoulder the rest of the way.
"ric, we're here" I say quietly in her ear
"mmm where?"
"the cabins?" I say giggling at her forgetting.
she sits up and rubs her eyes so they can adjust to the light from outside.
"alright students listen up, since this is bus one, you will be dismissed first and given the key to your room as you enter the cabins. andrea and selena will come first from the very back, and then the rest of you follow."
the two girls get get up and make their way to the front of the bus where they received their keys. everyone was moving at such a fast pace that it was already jonah and sierras turn to get up. then zach and julia, then me and ric.
for rooms we decided to do jonah and sierra, obviously, julia and luna, though zach wasn't happy. me and jack, zach and daniel, and alyssa and erica. so when I went up I got the key to room 237 and I saw ericas said room 239.
we got our stuff from the bottom of the bus and went straight to our rooms to put everything down. our rooms weren't far apart so we could just go and hangout in whoever's room was the biggest.
"ready to hit the slopes besson"
"oh you bet avery"
me and jack finished getting all our snow stuff on and we exit the rooms to see only alyssa waiting in hallways.
"omg jack you look like the stay puff marshmallow man" she says dying of laughter.
"haha, it's cause I'm wearing all white right?" he says smiling at her laugh. he is so whipped.
erica comes out of the room realizing what alyssa is laughing at and joins her shortly after.
"these fits are pretty hot huh jones?" I say moving my eyebrows up and down.
"oh yea, very much model material" she says while laughing.
the rest of the group joins us and we went straight to the rental shop to get our skis and snowboards then right to the big slopes.
we all knew how to ski and snowboard previously so we had no problem going to the big hills right away.
"wanna race stooges?"
"you're on herron"
after alyssa said that we all went down the hill racing down, passing one another as we went down the slope.
I was the first one down clearly winning then daniel right behind me with the rest coming in shortly. zach came in last on his own race covered in snow, meaning he definitely fell. so did luna since she was also covered in snow. maybe some of us should have started with smaller hills.
we went down a few more times then decided to call it a day cause everyone fell at least once, eventually making us cold and tired.

after I was done scrolling through instagram and being bored downstairs, I decided to see what erica was doing.
the group was downstairs drinking hot chocolate on the couches by the fire, but erica wanted to lay down since her arms and legs were hurting from skiing.
"knock, knock" I say walking into her room that was left unlocked.
"hey corbs" she says sitting up on the bed.
"no no no, you can lay down, I just wanted to bring you some hot chocolate and give you some company"
"thanks corbs, kinda really craving hot chocolate. it's like you read my mind." she says drinking it as I giggled.
there was a comfortable silence before she broke it asking me something I needed to get off my chest anyways.
"have you talked to madison since your fight about whatever cause I saw her comment on jonahs post"
"nah I haven't"
"what was your fight even about, might I ask"
"she's accusing me of loosing feelings for her and gaining them for you, and saying I'm around you to much"
"still with that, my god she's gotta let it go"
"I know right" I say looking down. little does erica know, I am gaining feelings for her.
"are you?"
"am I what?" I say nervous. I hope she doesn't ask me cause I am not ready to tell her that.
"loosing feelings for her?"
"I think so. then again I don't know if they were even there to begin with. zach helped me realize that"
"hold up zach gave you advice?" she says practically spitting out her hot chocolate.
"haha yea and it was good. helped me realize that maybe I stuck with madison because I appreciated her and felt like I owed it to her for helping me with my family issues but I'm not even sure if it was madison or the trip in general that helped with the trauma from my dad." I confess to her.
I look over to her and see her jaw dropped slightly and her eyebrows raised. she looks like she doesn't know what to say. I mean what can she say.
"what are you gonna do now?" she finally asks.
"well I no longer believe she's the one I wanna be with and I think I'm gonna end it after the trip. it's just not working for me anymore. it's more toxic than it is loving and it's making me mad and sad more than it is happy."
I look over at her teary eyed. I don't wanna hurt madison, I don't like hurting people in general. I just wanna be able to be honest with her.
"good to know that our relationship was a lie and that I actually meant nothing to you" I hear from behind me.
I turn around and see madison in the doorway with tears steaming down her face as she storms off. clearly I forgot to close the door. shit. I didn't want her to find out like this.
I turn to erica in panic then get up and go after madison.
