Halloween came around, and it was finally close to the end of my first semester. Time had flown by too fast. Hunter and I got close. He had just told me he had feelings for me. I thought I wasn't ready to date, but he made me feel ready as time went by.
I arrived at the engagement room and signed in. Hunter comes up from behind me exclaiming,
"Happy Halloween!" He handed me a bag of candy canes. We exchange smiles as I receive the bag from him. We broke eye contact when Alex stood in between us trying to get to the sign-in computer.
"Excuse me, you're both in the way!" I laugh, shake my head and find a table to sit at. Alex has become a really good friend to me as Lia as he distanced himself from the girl on the art account. He dropped the meet-up idea and got himself a significant other. I was happy for him and always wished him the best. Alex places his bag on the chair in front of me saying,
"I'm going to grab a coffee. Will you watch my stuff?" I nod as he runs off. Hunter sits next to me and asks,
"So are you doing anything tonight?" I chew the inside of my lip, and shake my head. I knew he had been trying to ask me out on a date for some time. He started to get more nervous around me and has always tried to be alone with me.
"Would you like to go out and watch a movie?" His eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. Hunter was good for me and I felt ready to start dating again, even after my last relationship. I wanted to be happy and Hunter was doing a very good job making me feel that way.
I nod and he sighs in relief. Did he really think I'd say no?
"I'd very much like that." I reply using my words. I hugged him and in that moment, I felt it. I felt happy.

"The movie was so lame!" Hunter exclaimed as he threw the empty popcorn bag away.
"No way! You just wish it ended differently." He stared at me in shock. We both laugh and sit inside a photo booth outside the movie theatre. We sit in silence before he leans in to kiss me. It caught me by surprise when he grabbed my face to pull me in. I felt like I deserved to be happy so I pulled myself closer to kiss him and by the time the kiss got so intense, my phone rang and he groaned
"Who is ruining this moment?" he frowns and crosses his arms. I laugh and mouth "Mom" before answering. Hunter puts his hand over his mouth and I try to hold in my laugh when I answer.
"Hi mom. Yes, the movie just ended. I'll be home soon." I hang up and burst out laughing while Hunter mouths "I'm sorry" several times before laughing himself.
Hunter drove me home and walked with me to the front door, hand in hand.
"I had fun today" Hunter finally says as we get to the door. I smile and nod,
"Me too." He grins and kisses me again. Every time he kissed me, my heart skipped a beat. I gave myself the opportunity to feel happy. I broke the kiss leaving him wanting more.
"Goodnight." I grin and go inside my house. As soon as I got to my room, I receive a text message from Hunter
Goodnight <3
I smile to myself and lay in my bed where I knocked out.
