:) :) :) :) :) :)"I've decided that I'm going to tell him tonight," I said to Meg and Vincent, I was sitting on the couch and holding tightly to one of the decorative pillows- a nervous habit.
"Do you want us to be there," Meg asked sensitively.
I looked at her and smiled. "Of course," I said to them both with a smile.
"You seem pretty confident about it," Vincent said as he sat beside me.
"I have a good feeling about it," I said simply.
Meg and I decided it would be best if we headed back to her place to help Cora- her mom- with dinner. As it got closer and closer to time for supper, I began to feel a little more anxious. Maybe it was just the hormones messing with my nerves or something. I knew he would be ok. He loves me and from what I can tell he seems to like Vincent too.
As Meg and I were in the middle of setting the table, there was a knock at the door. My dad put down his paper he was reading to answer it. Of course I knew who it was, but he was a bit shocked to see Vincent at the door.
"Vincent," my dad greeted him in surprise, "it's not often we see you here."
"Yes sir," he said nervously, "I try to keep my distance to avoid suspicion."
My dad cracked a smile, "You're welcome around here anytime, Vincent."
I could see the worry and stress instantly melt off his face at that comment. It made me feel better as well.
All eyes were on me as we all sat at the table to eat. Except for my dad, everyone was waiting for me to announce the news. I opened my mouth a couple of times to speak, but no words would come out.
"Dad," I finally managed to say out loud. "I- I need to tell you something."
"Go ahead, sweetie," he said as he set his silverware down to give me his full on attention that only seemed to worsen my nerves.
"Promise me you wont get angry...at anyone," I asked of him and he gave me a smile.
"You can tell me anything, Arielle. What's this about?"
I looked around at everyone's expressions. Meg was eager. Her mom- comforting. Vincent- nervous as hell.
Finally I sucked it up and blurted it out.
"Dad, I'm pregnant!"
I looked at his face. He wasn't looking at me and I didn't know how he felt about me right now. But one thing was for sure...
If looks could kill- my baby wouldn't have a father.
"Vincent, I think it's probably best if you leave now," Cora said, clearly for his safety.
But Vincent did not look like he was about to leave. He just looked my dad in the eye, not backing away or showing any hint of fear.
"You have some nerve," my dad said in a tone I had never heard from him. "How dare you disrespect my daughter in that way. You had NO RIGHT to touch her or even be so close to her, YET STILL I allowed you two to be together."
"Hun, just calm dow..." Cora tried to say.
"No! I will not calm down, Cora," he said coldly, still shooting death glares at Vincent. "You need to leave! And If I EVER catch you with Arielle again, SO HELP ME GOD...!"
