You waited and waited for your dead best friend to rise, but it was all in vain as the random assortment of body parts connected to his head remained completely still, you looked to the girls in gut-wrenching disappointment. The three of you panted, breathless, and you shut your eyes with sheer sadness and guilt. Guilt at how you couldn't save your best friend. Madison defiant and blunt as ever lifts the corpse's arm, it falls back down with a thud.

Madison: Well that was a bust

Zoe: You sure you said the spell correctly?

Madison: Hey I've been acting since I was five, I know my lines

Zoe: I guess we're just not powerful enough

Madison quickly gathers her belongings and stuffs them back into her bag, grabbing your hand and pulling you to the exit.

Zoe: Hey I'll, I'll meet you guys at the car. I left my phone in here somewhere

You look to Zoe with a raised eyebrow, suspicious of her desire to stay behind, you weren't dumb enough to believe the lie. Madison, ignorant as ever, only cared for getting the two of you out of there.

Y/N: Zoe are you sur-

Madison: Hurry up

With that she drags you out of the morgue and into the light of the early morning. The two of you light up a cigarette, Madison waiting impatiently for Zoe to come outside. You decided to distract her with a topic you'd been bugged by as of late.

Y/N: What are we?

The beautiful blonde looks up at you, eyes wide with shock and cheeks blushing. Ok Y/N. Maybe a little abrupt, but Madison likes things straight to the point.

Madison: Um... I don't... I guess

The girl sighed deeply. Well done Y/N. You'd sent the most forward person on the planet into social meltdown. She opened her mouth again to answer.

Madison: I... don't know

Your face dropped as the inconclusive retort exited her lips. There was no time for further discussion however as a car pulled up behind, a security guard in the driver's seat.

Y/N: Shit

You rushed into your car, stamping out your cigarette.

Madison: Drive

She looks back at the building where Zoe remained.

Madison: Tough luck bitch

You both sat down and you drove away as quickly as possible.

Minutes later, driving home, you look to Madison, seeing she was already staring your way, as your head turns however she turns to look at the floor. An awkward silence has filled the car for what feels like centuries.

Y/N: Look, if you don't want something then don't be scared to say. Not that I think you would be scared, I just, I guess I really like you, I think we have something. Whatever that something is I really fucking like it

Another few seconds of tension pulsates through the atmosphere before she closes her eyes and exhales loudly before looking to you, you try your best to maintain eye contact.

Madison: I really like you Y/N, as in like you so much that it scares the shit out of me, half the time I spend around you I feel a constant need to piss my pants, you make me nervous and that NEVER happens

You give a light smile looking ahead at the road.

Madison: What you did for me at that party, the way you helped me, the way you made me feel, I've never had that, and I want it, really really bad... but I'm just not ready to be someone's girlfriend, not yet

You give an understanding nod, knowing the weight of the situation and how much shit she's been through to get where she is. You look to her and hold her hand as you come to a halt at a stop sign.

Y/N: If you don't feel ready for anything then nothing needs to happen, I just know I don't wanna lose you, even if it's just as a frien-

She grips your face and pulls you in for a passionate kiss, there's a spark of electricity coursing throughout the two of you, it feels right, in that moment you knew what you had... It was an absolute drea-

*BEEEEEEP*

Your kiss is cut short by the deafening tones of a car horn, you rush to sit back in your seat and speed around the final corner to the school. The two of you blushing deeply.

Y/N: So... what happened to not being ready?

Madison: Yeah that... that was wrong. I think we can see where this goes. BUT

You look to her intently as you pull up outside Miss Robichaux's.

Madison: You are NOT my boyfriend and I am NOT your girlfriend. You get that? Maybe one day but... I'm not ready to settle down yet, and I feel like as soon as I settle down with you... I'm settled down for life. You know what I mean?

You chuckle knowingly.

Y/N: I know exactly what you mean. We'll go at your pace Maddie

With that you each lean in again, another passionate kiss igniting an electrical current of romance. You'd take it as slow as need be, but you knew this was something special.
