Well this is the first story I've ever written so be gentle with me...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The pain.
The pain was unfathomable.
Excruciating.
I could hear the screams surrounding me.
Calling my name over and over.
"Lexie!"
Until the pounding of my heartbeat flooded my ears.
And I blacked out.
I think waking up, is worse than crashing...
Crashing happens, your body blocks most of the pain, but waking up, that shit ain't good.
You forget for a little while what happened, then you get scared 'cos all you see are white walls and machines, all you feel is the tubes and leads from those machines poking into various different parts of your body.
Like I said, that shit ain't fun!
Slowly my eyes fluttered open to examine my surroundings.
"Lexie! You're okay! Thank God!" A rough voice, which could only belong to my brother, exclaimed beside me.
I turned my head cautiously, blinking away the brightness of the ceiling lights.
"Hey Sam" my voice strained and gruff.
"Here have some water"
My eyes trailed over his face, bruises discolouring his features, slashes of red everywhere.
He gently placed the straw to my lips and I quickly drank savouring the coolness of the icy water.
"You look like shit!"
"Look in the mirror, compared to you, I'm a model!"
"Seriously though, what the hell happened?!" I questioned.
"Well, I don't really know, all I remember was you singing along to some shitty song by The Wanted, and then the next thing, you've gone straight threw the front window of the car. I fricking shit myself! I though you were dead for sure!"
"No, you mean you wish I was dead for sure" I chuckled weakly.
He gently pushed my shoulder and laughed with me.
"Your doctors gonna be here in about 20 minutes so go back to sleep for a while, I'll wake you when he gets here okay?"
"Mhmm" I was already drifting steadily into a state of unconsciousness.
