I went through the day, attempting to deter thoughts of Jackson...
His soft pink lips... The way his eyes sparkle no matter how faint the light shines.... That sweet dimple that appears when he smiles...
I needed to be distracted by something.
So I went to the local cafe.
I pushed through the door and slipped into the lone chair in the corner. Soon enough Joe stepped over.
"So, what's the drama?"
"What makes you think there's drama?" I asked sceptically.
"You only come in here when you need to get things off your mind" he laughed.
"Oh..right" I mumbled
"So c'mon as your gay best friend you have to tell me!" He chattered.
"Just some guys..." I told him about the accident and the men that followed.
"Oh c'mon darl! You obviously want Jackson, and anyways he sounds juicy" He winked cheekily.
"But is that just because I can't have him? Or because I actually want him" I asked more confused now.
"Well I guess you'll just have to risk it sweetie, anyways I gotta get back to work, so call me later sexy" he jumped up and carries on with work.
I sat there for a while, mulling things over in my head.
I heard the bell ring over the door. I slowly raised my eyes to examine who came through.
My gaze locked with another's.
Brown eyes locked on green.
He slowly made his way to my table, tight tan skin moving lithely over his tense muscles shown by his short sleeves shirt. He moved cautiously as if approaching a deer, as if he feared I would bolt at any second.
"Lexie" he smiled gently.
"Dr Avery" I acknowledged.
"I'm not at work you can call me Jackson if you want" he commented.
"But I don't want to."
"Why?" His turned his head in confusion.
"That would make it appear that as if we have more than a professional relationship. Which we do not." I replied, my face wiped of any emotion spinning through my head.
"Lexie, please just hear me out?" He begged me with his eyes.
"You have nothing to say that I want I hear." My chair scraped across the floor as I stood.
"Now, if you will excuse me Dr Avery, I'm going home" I said indifferently.
Once again I sped out the door, away from him, biting back tears.
