~my hands scraped down the tight muscles of his back. Feeling them tense and flex. A hand skimmed my thigh ~

"Lexie?" My head slowly turned at the voice pulling me away from my daydreams.

"Hey Alex, how was your day?" Alex visited me at least twice a day, but I was never sure if that's to check up on me or because he wanted to see me.

"Not too bad, I lost a patient, but I guess it could have been worse" he smiled weakly.

"Oh, Alex I'm so sorry!" My had reached out for his.

"It's okay, it happens I guess" he brushed it off and clasped my hand in his.

We sat in silence for a while. Comfortable just to be in each others company.

His eyes shining with tears he was too proud to shed. I gently ran my fingers through his hair, his eyes closed gently. Knowing this was comforting I continued this action for a while longer until his pager beeped.

"I gotta go tell the family, I probably won't see you until tomorrow, so sleep well" he kissed my forehead, his smile faltering as he walked out the door. Alex and I had become extremely close over the week I has been here, it pained me to see him hurt like this. I feared he would breakdown, he had recently been divorced by his wife after she left him. He loved her. You could see it in his eyes. He cared for her when she became ill with cancer and yet, she left him. Which is something I would never understand.

My brain slowly blocked out the noises surrounding me and I continued with my earlier day dream.

Until I was once again, interrupted! What is it with this place?! Can't a girl be sexually frustrated in peace?!

"Why hello there Miss Sykes" a sleek voice called into my room.

"Good afternoon, Dr Avery" I smirked.

"Why don't you call me Jackson?" he chuckled.

"You're my doctor? Why would I call you by your first name?" I enquired.

"Well, you're on first name basis with Dr Karev" he raised an eyebrow at me.

"Alex is no longer my doctor, he and I are now good friends." I retorted.

"Hmm looks like I'll have to wait then won't I?" He chuckled.

"Yes I suppose you will Dr" I grinned back at him.

"Now, lets check you over shall we?"

"Check me over how exactly?" I asked cautiously.

"I'll have to pull up your shirt slightly to check your stomach for abnormalities" he grinned cheekily, showing off once again that singular dimple in his cheek.

His hand skimmed my hip as he tugged at my shirt. The head spreading through my body, causing my heart to speed up.

He was notified of this by the monitor beside my bed.

He smirked proudly and lent forward and pressed his lips to my ear.

"Calm down Lexie, I have better ways to give you a heart attack" he whispered sultrily, his hand skimming my hips, slipping down the waistband of my jeans and being removed just as quickly as it entered.

He left me with a wink, and a racing heart, my cheeks emitting red heat.

It took me a while to calm down before my brother came back from lunch...which seemed a bit long to me, but I didn't want to know the details...

"So, who came to visit? Dreamy or Steamy" Sam chuckled.

"I assume you mean Alex and Dr Avery, and both actually" I answered gruffly.

"Ohh, well aren't you popular" his sarcastic tone was not appreciated.

"Apparently so, but from what I've seen so are you" I remarked.

"Well what can I say, I am a stud" he snorted.

"Yeah, keep dreaming Sammy boy" I chuckled.

It felt good, to have someone to laugh with, between Alex's problems and Avery's flirting, Sam came as a sense of normality.

"McDreamy said you'd be out next week" Sam bounced in his seat.

"Calm down, you'll be looking after me" I smirked.

"Right well! Lets just push you out of bed and break some bones! I damn well ain't looking after ya!" Sam elbowed me in the ribs causing me to wince but smack him in the back of the head.

Like I said, it was nice to have some normality for once.
