Five -> Olivia Parks

"How much longer?" Dylan groaned. I giggled quietly, ducking under a branch.

"Not much." I answered. I heard him groan behind me causing me to giggle again. "You don't hike much, do you?"

"Not really, do you?" He asked, catching up to me.

"I used to hike with my dad every weekend. We would hike to this little river and canoe down it until we reached a water fall. We would jump off the cliffs and into this beautiful lake." I sighed, smiling at the memories. "We would swim for hours."

"Why did you stop?" He asked. I looked at him and for the first time I didn't see a cocky smirk or a playful smile, he actually looked like he wanted to hear about my life.

"Your dad started buying competing buildings." I sighed. "C'mon, The river is just up ahead."

I sped up my pace, wanting to get away from him. I had nothing against him of coarse, I just didn't want to think about losing my best friend.

"Hey!" Dylan called, catching up to me. "You know, its not my fault."

"I know." I nodded.

"So why are you mad at me?" He asked. "Why do you hate me?"

"I don't." I shrugged.

"Yes you do, you hate me but you don't know me." I pointed his finger at me.

"We're here." I said, ignoring his response. "We'll just walk the river, its only forty minutes."

"Can you please answer me." Dylan groaned.

"Why do you want to know so bad?" I exclaimed, turning to face him.

"Because, I deserve too!" He yelled, obviously frustrated.

"Okay," I sighed putting my hands up in defense. "I hate you because you are Cocky, and arrogant, and you sleep around."

"Okay, thank you." He smiled. "But there is a difference between cocky and confident."

"There is also a difference between being confident and being too confident." I pointed out. "And if your too confident, you fail."

"Oh, well-am I really to confident?" He stuttered, looking at me confused.

"A little bit, yeah." I nodded.

"Well I'm not really arrogant and I don't sleep around." He shrugged. "I'm just arrogant for my image and the girls I 'sleep' with don't actually want sex they want money so I give them money and they tell all their pretty friends what a good fuck I am. Truth is, I'm still a virgin."

"No your not." I laughed then looked at him. Once I saw he wasn't laughing I stopped. "Holy shit."

"Yeah yeah." He mumbled. "But you are to so don't go judging."

"I'm not judging." I rose my hands up in surrender. "But, I'm also not a virgin."

"What?" He asked flabbergasted.

"Yeah, I lost it last year to my best friend, Charlie." I nodded.

"Isn't he gay?" He questioned.

"Bisexual actually." I informed.

"Oh, okay." He nodded his head understandingly.

"But don't go judging." I mocked him.

He laughed and soon I joined in. Once we calmed down a comfortable silence fell upon us.

"So, why do you hate me?" I asked.

"I don't, actually." I said. "I just need my dad to think I do so he will be proud. Truth is I knew you before I learned to hate you, and I really want to know you again."
