"Helen said you can stay at her place until the house is fixed up." My mom said.

"What about you?" I asked, holding my suitcase. We were standing outside of my house that was now surrounded by police officers and police tape.

"Your father is flying home tonight and we are going to stay at one of his hotels. I told him you are staying at Maria's." My mom explained.

"Oh, okay." I nodded.

"Unless you want to stay at Maria's?" My mom asked, confused.

"No, Maria is at her boyfriends house." I shook my head referring to a text message I got earlier about Maria and Joey's fun week alone. I went to turn around but stopped and looked back at my mom. "What would dad do, if I told him about Dylan and me?"

"You don't want to know sweetie." She sighed.

"Okay." I whispered. I turned around and walked to Dylan's car where he waited patiently. I sat in the passenger seat and looked at him.

"What did the police say?" He asked.

"They said they have no idea who did it but because of my dad we're top priority." I shrugged. "They let us look around for anything stolen."

"What didn't you find?" He questioned.

"They took my laptop, the living room tv, my car, and something of my dads, my mom wouldn't tell me what." I answered.

"Do you want to go to my house?" He asked.

"No." I shook my head. "I have to go to the dinner. My shift starts in an hour and I still need my uniform."

"Alright." He nodded. He pulled out of my driveway and down the road.

"You know what I find funny?" I asked.

"What?" He questioned.

"How we are doing what our moms wanted us to do in the first place." I smiled. "They wanted us to date and here we are, dating."

"Unfortunately we can't do all the fun coupley stuff." He frowned.

"Yes we could." I nodded. "We just can't do couple things in public."

"I know." He sighed. The car was silent as I watched Dylan. His face looked as if he were thinking, his lower lip in between his teeth and his eyebrows furrowed. Suddenly his face lit up and he looked at me with a smile.

"Look at the road before a tree wipes that smile off your face." I giggled. He turned to the road but his smile stayed.

"I have an Idea." He smiled.

"And what would your idea be?" I asked.

"I know a restaurant in the city, we are having a date after your shift." He answered.

"Um, everyone in the city knows us and then they will tell our dads, you'll die and I'll be shipped to Alaska." I groaned.

"Not if I have anything to say." He shook his head. "I like you, and when I like something I keep it. But, I'm not calling you an it, or saying I own you like you're my possession. I just meant that I really like you and I won't let anyone come between us. I don't think you are an object I own, in any way." He rambled nervously.

I giggled. "Well thank you." I leaned over and kissed his cheek. "I won't let anything come between us either."

"This is some real Romeo and Juliet shit." He laughed.
