Six -> Olivia Parks

Dylan pulled up to a parking lot that was in front of a dinner that looked like it was ripped out of the 80's.

"I know what your thinking." He said, getting out as I followed suite.

"And whats that?" I asked.

"Yes this diner was built in the 80's." He smiled. We walked up to the front door and he opened it for me.

"Thank you." I smiled. I walked in and was greeted by the sound of retro music and the smell of hamburgers.

The dinner was turquoise with white and black stripes. There were pictures of those who worked at the diner and even one of Dylan.

"Dylan!" Someone exclaimed. I turned around and saw a middle aged woman wrap her arms around Dylan, laughing.

"Hello, Juno." He laughed hugging her back. He pulled away and looked at me. "I want you to meet my friend, Olivia."

"Hello, darling." Juno smiled hugging me. "I am Juno, and if you need anything, just ask."

"Thank you." I smiled at her.

"Juno we want two of your best burgers." Dylan smiled.

"Cookie!" She yelled towards the kitchen as a middle aged man - probably her husband - looked up. "Two of your finest for Dylan and his beautiful friend"

"You got it Darlin'" He pointed his spatula at he before he started grilling our burgers.

"I'm going to go and make you both my famous Dylan shake." Juno smiled before walking off.

"Dylan shake?" I asked as Dylan led me to a booth.

"I am kind of paying for this place." He shrugged.

"Why?" I asked.

"My mom took me here when I was little. I didn't want to loose the memory so when I found out the were going bankrupt I asked my mom if we could buy it." He explained.

"Speaking of, where is aunt Nicole?" A girl asked walking up to us. She had bright blonde hair and dark blue eyes.

"She is at home." Dylan answered. "Olivia, this is my friend Brooke."

"Hi, Olivia." She smiled.

"Hi." I smiled back.

"How is Benjamin?" Dylan asked turning to face her.

"He is good." She nodded her head.

"Benjamin?" I asked.

"My son." Brooke explained. "He just turned one."

"Aw." I smiled.

"Okay, Brooke." Dylan groaned. "Go clean some tables."

"Jealous." She rolled her eyes playfully. She stood up and walked off as Dylan looked at me.

"Sorry about her." He mumbled.

"Its fine." I shrugged. "She seemed nice."

"She is." He nodded. "You should come to the fair with us in next week. I don't want to be the third wheel with her boyfriend this year."

"I'll think about it." I smiled.

"Here you two go!" Juno walked over to us with a tray in he hands.

She set down our milkshakes along with our hamburgers. "Thank you." I smiled.

"Anytime darling." She winked at us before walking off.

"Sorry about her." Dylan laughed, biting into his burger.

"It's fine." I giggled. "So tell me, do you have any other plans for today?"

"Nope. We will eat and I will take you home." He said. I nodded as we ate in slience.

Everything I used to think about Dylan was wrong. He isn't arrogant, or conceded, or rude. He's misunderstood, funny and sweet. To be fair, I wouldn't mind spending another day like this, with him.

"Are you ready?" He asked. I took my last sip of milkshake and nodded.

"How much?" I asked, pulling out some money from my shorts pocket.

"None." He said standing up. He grabbed my hand and pulled me up.

"Bye Juno!" Dylan waved.

"Bye Juno." I smiled as she waved. Dylan and left the dinner, still holding hands.

We walked up to his car and let go, getting into the vehicle. He started the car as I buckled up my seat belt. He pulled out of the parking lot as we started heading home.

"Hey, I'm sorry for....you know...holding your hand.." He awkwardly apologised.

"Um.." I cleared my throat. "I-it's fine." Slowly I felt my cheek turn a light shade of pink.

"But, you liked it." He chuckled, smirking at me.

"Don't get so cocky." I shook my head.

"Alright sorry." He smiled. "But if it makes you feel any better, I liked it a little too."

"Oh really?" I smiled.

"Yeah, yeah. A little." He shook his head laughing. "But,today was fun, you know?"

"Yeah." I nodded.

"It was nice to hang out with someone who didn't want me to buy them shit." He sighed.

"It was nice learning about the real you and not the guy you pretend to be." I smiled at him.

"Well um, if you were having fun. Maybe you would like to come to the uh, the-the fair, with me n-next week." He stuttered.

"Like a date?" I asked smirking.

"No um,l-like um, uh. Yeah like a date." He nodded.

"I thought you didn't have a crush on me anymore." I smiled.

"What? I don't! I just thought another day like this would be nice." He shrugged.

"We'll see." I smiled.

The rest of the ride was spent with us blast the radio while screaming the words to the songs we knew. Before we knew it we were exactly where he picked me up this morning.

"Well, I guess I'll see you around." He mumbled. I picked up my phone and my bag.

"Yep." I opened the door before sitting back down an looking towards him.

"You should be getting home soon." He said and I nodded.

"I just want to tell you that I put my number in your phone while you were pissing in the bush on the way home. Just in case." I shrugged. "And, yes. I will go to the fair with you."

"Awesome. I'll text you later." I stepped out of the car and waved before closing the door and walking off. As I stepped up to my house I saw my mom standing at the front door with her arms crossed.

"You are in so much trouble." She said sternly.

"What?" I asked. Busted.

"Why don't you ask Maria, the girl who came to drop off the work you missed because you were sick but is now sitting in our kitchen pissed." She growled.

"I-I'm sorry mom I-"

"Don't. Get inside the house."I lowered my head before walking into the house. I'm officially screwed.
