After the whole sorceress debacle was over, Leviesse thought it would be a good idea to get all the girls together for a good old-fashioned sleepover. It sounded a bit juvenile for an eighteen-year-old to be having a sleepover, but she wanted to dish about things, and some of these things were things she was not willing to share with her mother, no matter how close they were.
Luckily, they all agreed, and she was even able to get Leiria at a time where she was healthy enough to travel back to Balamb. This was good. This was all very good.
"Leviesse, do you even know how to organize an event?" her mother asked her.
"Yes, Mum, I do. Now let me-"
"Why do you have your head in the fridge? We both know you don't even know how to turn on the stove."
Leviesse sighed; not because her mother was antagonizing her, but because that was actually true.
"I'm not trying to be mean. I want to help you." Maceida smiled at her.
"Could've fooled me," she muttered.
"What was that?"
"Er, nothing." Leviesse turned around, shutting the refrigerator door and smiling up at her mother. "What do we do?"
"Well, to start, do you have enough space in your bedroom for everyone to sleep?" asked Maceida.
"Aye, I did that first." Leviesse nodded. "I chose music for us to listen to and movies to watch too!"
"Then all you need now is snacks." Maceida smiled again, reminiscing. "Your mum was lucky. Spencer-Lynn always made us pastries when we had our sleepovers."
"You had sleepovers? But you're sisters. You already lived with each other anyway."
"It wasn't that simple, Leviesse, especially after I became a teenager." Maceida sighed. "Anyway, I should have her recipe for macarons still. I can give it to Vida, and she can bake some for you."
"Okay." Leviesse nodded. No one could say no to Spencer-Lynn's macaron recipe.
"Hey, ladies!" Laguna walked into the room. "You look like you're plotting."
"We're discussing plans for my sleepover tonight, Dad," Leviesse told him with a smile.
"Oh! Almost forgot about that." Laguna reached into his back pocket and handed Leviesse a wad of money. "Get yourselves something nice for dinner!"
"Thank you!" Leviesse stood up to hug him.
"Anything for my little girl!" Laguna hugged her back.
"$125 for dinner between five girls, Laguna?" asked Maceida, looking through the money he'd given their daughter. "Did we not just have a talk about you spoiling Leviesse well into her adulthood?"
"Eh... heh." Laguna scratched the back of his head nervously. "But, Maceida-"
"Oh, no, don't you 'but Maceida' me, this is a serious problem!" she said, pointing a finger.
"Mum, it's okay," Leviesse cut in. "This is complicated. Whatever we get, Aurelie needs something different because she's a vegetarian, and there are certain things Linna doesn't eat because it goes against Al Bhed culture; she'll probably need something different too. And then there's taxes, and delivery charges..."
"All of which will not come anywhere near $125, Leviesse," Maceida told her. She then turned to Laguna. "Do you see? Do you see how badly we've spoiled her? She doesn't even understand why we're having this conversation!"
