"Thanksgiving is a Galbadian tradition; I like the idea of having a day where we all let our families know we are thankful for their existence and support, and the food is yummy too." Leiria smiled as she looked in the closet for a dress to wear. Her parents wanted to have a Thanksgiving dinner, like they did when she was little, and Martine's parents would be coming as well, since they didn't have family aside from Martine himself.
"We used to celebrate it in Garden, kinda. Dad and Ma and I would eat with Raine and her parents..." Martine was sitting on the bed. "I don't know, Leiria. You know how my parents can be; I don't want them causin' a whole scene and ruining the dinner."
"This dinner is too yummy for anyone to fight during it." Leiria turned to Martine, still smiling. "And more than that, who could possibly get upset for any reason when their adorable grandchild is present?"
Martine smirked, remembering that he was now a father, and that his son Kennedy was napping peacefully in the next room over. He was only three months old- a fact that Martine found himself repeating in his head when realizing his son looked nothing like him. If anything, he was a cross between Leiria and his father, with that auburn hair.
"I guess," Martine mumbled.
"And," Leiria pulled a dress off its hanger and went to sit on her husband's lap. "My mother is making sweets for the meal."
Martine's expression completely changed.
"Well, I guess we can do this... for the desserts."
Leiria laughed, standing again. "I thought that would convince you. Get dressed, okay? I'm going to go prepare Kennedy's diaper bag thingy."
"Is this a casual event?"
"Mm-hmm. Come as you are- what matters is that you come." Leiria smiled again before leaving the room.

After going to retrieve the mail for her household, Selphie entered her and Irvine's house unit and took a few sniffs into the air.
"Irvine! Why does it smell like suffocated cinnamon in here?!"
Irvine, meanwhile, was in the kitchen poking inside a dish with a fork. He turned to his wife when she entered the room. "I made a peach cobbler. You think Mart and the others will like it?"
"Why did you cook a dessert? You know that's Spencer-Lynn's thing. Plus, you made the house smell gross."
"I'm 110% sure Spencer-Lynn is not making a peach cobbler. Remember when I made a small one for Christmas that year right after Martine married Leiria? Girl didn't even know what it was." He switched off the oven. "The smell will be gone soon, but I can open a window."
"Please." Selphie crossed her arms.
Irvine did so, then reached on top of the fridge to get aluminum foil. "You cooking anything?"
"I made snow lion casserole last night."
"Oh."
Silence.
"Can't wait to see our grandson." Irvine grinned. "What with that mission I went on, I ain't seen the boy since he was first born. You?"
"Leiria brought him to visit," Selphie replied. "About a week ago. He's starting to get her freckles."
Irvine nodded. "I'm glad she didn't try to give the boy a Portuguese name. I like to be able to say my family's names easily." He chuckled, and picked up his dish just to see Selphie standing there as if she were in deep thought.
"Something wrong, Sefie?"
"Huh? Oh, no, just...is all of Leiria's family going to be at this dinner?"
