{fyi, as a warning this is a mature chapter, due to smut. Incredibly sweet and caring smut, but smut all the same}

Whenever Martine was away on a mission, Leiria's family took it upon themselves to ensure that she was able to stay with at least one of them, in case she got sick. Although on one hand she didn't like everyone making such a fuss over her, she could admit that she was glad she didn't have to stay in her house alone. She and Martine had been married for a bit under two years now, and since the world was relatively peaceful he didn't go on many missions, so he spent a lot of time with her; ergo, it felt strange when he was gone.

"I'm just amazed that you two aren't tired of each other," Leviesse said. "Two years of being around each other all the time? Sometimes I can't stand to be around Gale for two hours."

"Well... it's not like we're together all the time," Leiria said hesitantly. "I have school when I'm well, and sometimes I help out at my mum's bakery. Martine has training and physicals regularly, plus he did just recently finish an instruments course at Balamb's community college. And we both go out with our friends when we can. Plus, I do have to live in Esthar sometimes..."

"I guess you're right, when you put it that way," Leviesse admitted. "Still, for you guys' relationship to have happened so suddenly, I'm amazed at the devotion and strength it has. I really believe you and Martine are soul mates."

Leiria smiled bashfully. "He says so as well."

Leviesse smiled back at her. "Are you feeling well, little cousin? Is your fever all gone?"

"Yes. I could use a nap, though..." Leiria yawned. "I always get really sleepy after my fevers..."

"You aren't gonna get any sicker, are you?"

"We'd know by now. Some of my fevers are standalone..." Leiria yawned again.

"Well, good- we don't need your magic almost burning our curtains again," Leviesse said teasingly. "That's a joke, by the way. I'm not upset, I promise."

Leiria had already fallen asleep on the couch.

"I guess I'll have Gale carry you to the bedroom whenever he gets in..." Leviesse smirked. "She's still so adorably childlike."

Gale came home not long after, and had no problem hoisting Leiria over his shoulder and carrying her to bed. "We'll have good news for her when she wakes up."

"We will?"

"Yep. Mart's back." Gale smiled as he pulled the covers over Leiria. "According to her parents, she's gonna want to go back home the minute she finds out."

"Then, the least I can do is pack her stuff up for her," Leviesse said. "Far be it for me to keep a woman from her loving husband."

"Martine!" Upon laying her eyes upon her husband, Leiria couldn't help herself, and ran to him, arms outstretched. He caught her, holding her tightly, picking her up and spinning her around a bit.

"Leiria." He smiled, one of the huge smiles he usually wore when being reunited with her. "It's been too long. I missed you so much."

"I missed you more!"

Martine chuckled. "Are you feeling okay?"

"I guess so. Earlier this morning I had a fever and accidentally let out a few Fire spells, but I feel a lot better now. I might need more naps soon though..."

"Let's nap together, then. I'm kinda tuckered out after the long trip back."

"Okay." Leiria nodded, and Martine carried her up to their room.
