"Do you know what I don't understand?" asked Leviesse. She sat on the edge of her and Gale's bed, her feet swinging in the air. Because of Gale's height, their bed sat up higher than usual. Leviesse liked it though; it made her feel tall.
"Well, if you don't understand it, I probably don't either; you know you're the smart one in this couple." Gale laughed. He was across the room, taking off his uniform. He'd just come in from work. "But I'll try my best. What is it, Levi?"
"Why is it that we have all this sex and I'm still not pregnant?"
Gale looked at his wife, who was looking down, sadly, at her lap. He sighed.
"Your guess is as good as mine," he replied, sitting beside her on the bed. "The only thing I can come up with is, maybe you've swallowed too many of our potential children."
Leviesse laughed, resting her head on Gale's arm. "Honestly? I thought that too."
This time they both laughed.
"Levi, have you thought that maybe this is something we need to go to the hospital and get a check-up for? Maybe... maybe my little guys aren't strong enough, you know?"
"Yeah, maybe," she agreed softly.
"Why do you sound so sad?" asked Gale.
"I don't want to think about that, you know? I know that not being able to conceive really hurts couples sometimes, and I don't want that to happen to us."
"Oh." Gale put his arms around her. "Don't worry about it, babe. We have options, but we don't even know if that's the case yet."
"Right. I always get so worried about everything." Leviesse smiled, wrapping her arms around Gale. "I need to be more carefree and happy like you, right?"
"Maybe a little, but you're the responsible one. Don't end up too much like me, or nothing would ever get done!" Gale playfully poked her cheek.
"You're right." Leviesse giggled. "Nothing, except the cooking of meals and the extensive amount of lovemaking we do. Speaking of which..."
"Are we giving the baby another try?" asked Gale.
"You know it." Leviesse laughed, before pulling her hair up and climbing toward the middle of the bed.

"Good morning, Levi." Aurelie smiled at her as she walked into the Academy's hospital.
"Aurelie, hi, and also what are you doing here?" Leviesse had a confused smile on her face.
"There's more than one reason, actually. I was called over to consult on a magic-related illness, but also, Harlan had a physical this morning and I told him I'd meet him so we could have breakfast together," replied Aurelie.
"Oh." Leviesse pointed to a large bowl on the front desk. "Are you sure it's not also because it's free condom week?" She smirked.
"Levi." Aurelie's face turned red.
"Hey, no one will judge you. Protection is good for unmarried couples, aye?" Leviesse smiled.
"Trust me, I am executing the appropriate contraception methods," Aurelie assured her. "What brings you here, by the way?"
"I have an appointment," replied Leviesse. "Making sure I'm healthy enough that it's not getting in the way of me having a baby."
"Oh!" Aurelie smiled. "I'm glad you've decided to do so. I know that since Valentine's Day is this week, your attempts to procreate are probably going to skyrocket."
