The next three years passed in a lovely haze of domestic bliss for the Snape family.

Severus and Lily finally got the chance to live like every other couple. Every night, they slept in each other's arms cuddled together. Every morning, they woke one another with a kiss and went about their days. Severus maintained his positional headmaster of Hogwarts, and Lily continued to work from home while she looked after little Zinnia.

They shared family meals together, often with Harry and Ginny when their schedules allowed.

Together.

The Snapes were all together at last.

As Zinnia grew from a toddler into a young girl, Lily homeschooled her for the time being, though there were many days when Zinnia accompanied Severus to his workplace.

How many children had the honor of being privately tutored by Professor Snape?

Professor Snape........

Many didn't like him at all, many were frightened of him, but everyone admitted to the unignorable fact that Professor Snape was an intelligent man and a skilled teacher.

By Zinnia's sixth birthday, she was already able to do everything a first year Hogwarts student could, but Severus paid little attention to that as he pressed on with his daughter's early education.

If he had been given the opportunity, Severus would have taken just as rigorous of an approach to Harry's learning as well.

While Severus and Lily's daughter expanded her knowledge, their son expanded his career.

Harry and Ginny were both becoming quite successful.

Harry had moved up the ranks during his brief time employed as an auror and at only twenty-one years of age, he was three promotions away from overseeing the entire department.

Ginny's quidditch career had really taken off. Her team, the Holyhead Harpies, had even managed to play in the Quidditch World Cup and were hoping to return soon.

Severus and Lily decided not to tell their children about his intended run for Minister of Magic.

Zinnia was too little to understand, but they knew that Harry certainly wasn't.

As the end of Kingsley's term drew near, Severus received a letter in the mail one morning.

After he took the letter from the brown owl, he sat at the kitchen table while his black eyes skimmed over each line. Lily stood behind him with her hands supportively on his shoulders.

Headmaster Snape,

Have you had time to consider my offer over these last three years? If you're willing to accept, please reply soon. I intend to announce my resignation next month. Your campaign will run during the twelve weeks that follow. By the end of the summer, you could hold my position.

I still feel you'll be the best man for the job.

Kind Regards,

Minister of Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt

Severus drew in a breath as he finished reading Kingsley's letter, but the action wasn't anxious or fearful, it was contemplative.

Lily took the opportunity to bolster her husband and she bent down, pecking Severus's face with a sweet kiss as she whispered confidently, "You're going to be wonderful, darling......We'll all be right beside you."
