—————————————————————The celebration at the Snape household continued long past everyone's usual bedtimes.
The family was far too excited to lay down and sleep anyway. After Severus, Lily, Zinnia, Harry, and Ginny finally did shuffle towards their rooms though, they all laid down and slept fitfully.
It was a shame because they all could have made good use of some decent rest.
Their lives were all about to become incredibly busy, but no one knew that as well as Severus.

The newly elected Minister for Magic was wise in his assumption. The weeks that followed Severus's victory were filled with press conference after press conference and meeting after meeting.
Severus was in charge of naming his successor at Hogwarts and to the students' delight, he chose Professor McGonagall to serve as the new headmaster.
Severus's few remaining days at his beloved school were short and brief. He didn't officially leave his post for another month, but McGonagall had already taken over most of his duties.
In between preparing to enter his office at the Ministry, organizing his new plans, and learning the ins and outs of the position from Kingsley, Severus had little time to oversee the daily affairs and operations of Hogwarts.
Though some feared him and few truly trusted him, the vast majority of the public regarded Severus as an intelligent man who, based on his demonstrated use of strategy and ultimate assistance in the fight for good, should at least be respected.
Lily filled in the gaps where there was any doubt about her husband left in the minds of the wizarding world's public.
Lily Snape~.
Lily was bright, radiant, kind, and wherever she went, whenever she appeared in the media's eye on Severus's arms, the people fell in love with her.
Like Severus, Lily also had a full schedule.
Although she didn't hold the position or the authority that her husband wielded, being the Minister of Magic's wife came with its own responsibilities and obligations.
Although, no matter how frantic their pace of daily life became, Severus and Lily still took care of Zinnia on their own. The couple refused to hire a nanny for help.
They also still had their family dinners with Ginny and Harry whenever time allowed.
Family.
Severus wasn't about to forget about family.
All he was doing, all he had ever done, it had all been for his family.
Well, really it had all been for Lily, but his love for the redhead had ultimately helped his family to blossom and that was what gave Severus the energy to make it through each trying day.
—————————————————————
On the night that Severus was allowed to set up his office in the Ministry of Magic, little Zinnia had asked to spend the evening in Harry and Ginny's care. She wasn't very interested in sitting around while her parents shuffled books and organized shelves.
The small girl sat cuddled on the sofa in between her brother and sister-in-law, clicking away on her DS while Harry and Ginny watched a muggle television show.
