You should have seen the look on her face when I threatened to report her, I could have been an actress you know, I shook her back to life and rubbed her arm softly "I'm kidding, you should know me better than that...oh my God, you gave me a fright there...I should even thank you for giving him my address...oh really? tell me about it..."
I didn't tell you Mary and I were quite close though she was my subordinate, she was a nice person

I went to my office because when I got to work. Mary held me up at her desk which was right in front of mine. Shortly after I sat down, she came in again "I didn't tell you about your other suitor...is that why you came here?...yes...okay, so who is it?...Dr. Mark...what did he want?...to check on you of course, he said he hadn't seen you so came to check up... he has my number but he never even called to know how I was doing, anyway, that's not my problem...I don't like him for you anyway...I know right, why don't you?...he's too pompous and walks as if the whole world is too dirty for his feet to thread on...hahaha...let me leave you to work...okay, nice day...you too"

Dr. Mark and I did our residency at this very hospital before we were fully employed and he's been bugging me about going out with him which I'm clearly not interested. He's known to be a womanizer and to me, he sees every woman as a trophy that has to be won. After he gets what he wants, he begins to treat them with disdain and unknown to him, most of the nurses like to talk about his adventures with them. Greg called to check on me, he's really a thoughtful person

"Hello Viv, how are you today?"

"Hello Greg, I'm good, I'm so glad to hear from you. How are you too?"

"I'm blessed_you at work?"

"Yes please, I reported today"

"Oo ok, that's good. How's your day going to be like?"

"I don't have any appointments booked for today, just patients' files to sort out and if I'm needed for any emergencies"

"Okay. would you be fine with it if I should pick you up for lunch?"

"I think so..."

"You think so?"

"I'm totally okay with it"

"That's a relief, so expect me there by 12:20, is that okay?

"Yes please"

"Good bye Viv...see you later"

I went about doing some work and didn't realize how the time flew, I wrapped up what I was doing and waited for Greg. He came few minutes to time_just when we were leaving my office, Mark showed up

"Hi Vivian, how are you?...I'm okay, you?...seeing you makes me just better. Are you going out?...yes and we should be on our way, see you around...okay, won't you introduce me to your friend?...later Mark..." I held Greg by the arm and dragged him outside, then he opened the car for us to sit in

"I didn't know you were that hungry...I just wanted us to get out of there, for Mark to leave me alone...I can see that, are you okay?...yes I am, sorry about that...don't worry, I understand. He's been asking you out I guess...yeah how did you know?...guy code...Oh I see_he could have other women, I don't know why he keeps worrying me...I'm sure it's what he's seen in you...which is?...you're different Viv and any man in his right frame of mind would want to be with you...any man? does that include you?...I'm sure you have better specs than what I can offer...you don't even know my 'specs' and you're giving up already...what do you feel like eating?...and he avoids the discussion, what at all are you scared of?...It's just that what you would want from or in a husband, I may not have. For instance, I have a son and looking after another woman's child is not an idea most women would jump at...oh Greg, is that all?...well yeah, you may be okay with me as a friend but not to go all the way into marriage and I'm okay with that, I'm content and grateful to have the opportunity to be your friend...hmm, I understand".
