Two Missing Daughters

Chapter 1

October 1910

I was peacefully sleeping until i was woken up by my Lady in waiting Charlotte. "Good Morning Sofia Nikolaevna its your birthday today you need to get up early" She said while petting my crazy auburn hair. "Okay 5 minutes please" i answered while i covered myself with my blanket. "Oh Sofi i know you very well you will always say 5 minutes please then after 5 minutes you ask for another 5 minutes. Its your birthday your family is waiting for you" Charlotte said while she pulled my blanket out. I didn't really had the choice but to get up and fix myself.

After i got out of the bath Charlotte fixed my hair similar to Olga. I cant believe im already 14 years old time goes fast in two years i will have my hair up and get to wear long dresses. "I love how shiny your hair is Sofia" I snapped out of my thoughts then looked at the mirror to Charlotte "Oh thank you" was all i just said. Im still very tired because i usually wake up at 6 but its 5 in the morning still kinda dark.

After Charlotte fixed my hair i got out of the chair fixed my bed then headed to the dining room. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOFIA!" Olga said while hugging me i almost fell down. Everyone greeted as well. I sat down in my chair next to Olga then ate my breakfast. "Papa i miss Livadia when are we returning there?" I asked Papa looked up to me and said "In Olga's birthday we are going to Livadia" Mama answered. "Really Mama?" Tatiana exclaimed joyfully. I sat there finishing my strawberries excited about going to Livadia eventhough its next month but that's kinda soon aswell.

Breakfast ended i was told to go to the living room after i brush my teeth by Tatiana she said it was a surprise. I wonder what it is.

I finished brushing my teeth then headed to the living rooms like i was told too. I knocked the doors before going in. Maria opened the doors then she covered my eyes. I sat down in the couch with Maria who was still covering my eyes. I felt a heavy box in my lap i opened my eyes to see a box with a ribbon. "What's inside of it?" i asked Mama while taking off the ribbon. "I dont know child open it to find out" Mama answered. I opened the box to find a Book and a paint set that i've been wanting since i was 11 "It's the book that i've been wanting my whole life! Thank you so much Mama and Papa" I ran to them giving them a hug. They kissed my forehead and said "No problem my dear" Papa said while patting my head. "Thank you so much for the paint set my dear sibling's" I thanked while hugging each one of them. "So glad you liked it Sofia!" Anastasia said while hugging me. I smiled and playfully patted her head.

After that i grabbed my art stuff then headed to the courtyard and started painting. I decided to paint a Flower. "Happy Birthday Tsarevna Sofia" i heard a voice behind me. I turned to look at him he had Dark brown hair and brown eyes he looks like a 16 year old boy. "Thank you fellow officer" i smiled while i continue to paint "What are you painting madam?" He asked while staring at my canvas "Oh im painting a flower but i dont know what flower. Any ideas?" I asked "Hmm a Sunflower would be amazing" He answered. I nodded my head and started to paint a sunflower until i realized i didn't asked his name "I didn't catch your name?" i asked turning to look at him "Im Andrei Feodorov" He bowed to me "Oh nice to meet you Andrei and please call me Sofi or Sofia" i said offering a handshake.

Me and Andrei chatted for a while until i noticed Olga smiling at us. I excused myself to Andrei then walked over to Olga. I sat beside her. "I saw you made a friend" she laughs while smiling at me "Stop he's just a friend what's wrong with being a friend with a boy?" I asked while slightly pinching her arm "There's nothing wrong with being a friend with a boy It's just i never really heard you laugh that hard before" Olga said while looking at Andrei who was sitting waiting patiently for me "Excuse me Olga i have to finish my painting" i said. I sat down in my chair grabbed my paint brush and started painting again "Im sorry for making you wait that long Andrei" i apologized turning at him "No worries Sofia" he smiled at me. We continued to talk for a while he guides me on my sunflower painting. I finished painting my sunflower then showed it to Andrei "What do you think?" I asked while holding the painting "It's beautiful Sofia like you " He said while looking at my painting I felt my face turning to a tomato "Oh thank you so much couldn't have done it without you" I said smiling at him

I fixed my art stuff and placed it back in my basket i let the painting dry inside my room. I went outside again to go for a little walk until i noticed Andrei gone. Maybe he just went back to work. I walked to the courtyard seeing Maria and Anastasia playing tag. "Hey Sofi wanna play tag with us?" Anastasia said while looking up to me "Okay then but not for too long i got homework to do" i said "okay....YOU CAN'T CATCH US!" Anastasia screamed. Maria and Anastasia ran very fast like a dog. "Oh i will catch you two!" I ran to them slowly catching up to them. I eventually caught both of them. We fell in the snow running out of breath. We were laughing very hard until we heard Mom call for us "Sofia, Maria and Anastasia Nikolaevna!" She said walking up to us. We got up and dusted of our dress "Oh my lord! you three get inside and change your clothes" Mama ordered. I went inside and bursted into our room. Tatiana noticed that my outfit is very dirty "Oh my what happened to you? did you fell in a Pig's den or?" She asked me while staring at my very dirty attire "I played tag with Mashka and Nastya and we fell in the dirty snow" i answered. I headed to my closet and changed into a much proper attire on. After i changed i grabbed my Maupassant and sat next to Tatiana who was knitting a pair a of gloves. "Are you excited for Livadia?" Tatiana asked looking out the window "Yes i cant wait even though its next month!" I answered joyfully. We both talked about the thing's we love about Livadia. "By the way who was that officer you were talking to earlier?" she asked smiling at me "Oh his name is Andrei Feodorov he helped me paint that Sunflower there!" I pointed at my sunflower painting "Ahh well he see-" she got cut off by a knock on the door "Come in" i said. "Hello my dear sisters" Olga walked in the room and sat right beside me "Hello dear Olishka" Tatiana said while finishing her work. We both sat and talked about who's better Cat's or Dog's i said both because their both cute.
