Chapter:21

~Shay's P.O.V~

Since Chase tried to cook and failed miserably I had to not only clean up his mess but make breakfast,really it was lunch, and then clean up again. After we ate and everything was clean I stood on the porch. The sun just starting to set and the sky had began to change colors. There was a slight breeze and in that moment everything was so clam and peaceful...it was perfect.

Chase came and wrapped his arms around my waist and leaned into my neck.

"I'm so glad I decided to wait and find you." he whispered.

"What do you mean you decided to wait?" I felt him tense behind me.

"I-I...uh..."

"You actually thought of just marking a random girl and not waiting for your mate." I snapped at him.

"The pack had to-"

"Don't even pull that bullshit, Chase!" I didn't no whether to cry or be furious .

"Shay. It only crossed my mind a few times." he tried to convince me.

"It should've never crossed your mind. I not once thought of ever being with any one but my true mate." I was screaming now and hadn't even realized it until Chase growled lowly at me. Stupid Alpha wolf.

"But Shay I love you and you're marked and mated and I couldn't live with out you."

"Maybe I regret being marked and mated. Maybe I would've liked more time to decide if I wanted to fuck someone else." I scoffed. I kinda regretted that,not that I would ever admit it.

He didn't respond. His eyes switched colors and his stared off into to space making me realize he was talking to someone through the pack mind link.

"Go pack. We're leaving. Nate said there was an attack." he sounded dead and emotionless.

I quickly shoved every thing into my bag and rushed to the car. I put my headphones in and sat patiently in the passenger seat.

Maybe I over reacted,but what if I would've met Chase after he had already marked and mated someone else. I would've been crushed, I couldn't have lived with my self. I didn't regret being marked or mated, I said that completely out of spite.

Chase eventually shoved his bags into the back and got in the car slamming the door so hard the car rocked. He didn't say as we pulled out of the drive way and headed to the airport.

The whole 6 hours trip from car to plane and back to car was silent. I be dammed if I apologize first.
