Blood.
Dirt.
Trash.
Ripped cloth.
The pack house was trashed. Everything was a mess. We hadn't even made it all the way into the pack house when the scent got to me. The thick smell of blood maybe it hard to breathe and I felt as if I was going to faint.
Lucky there were no bodies in sight but it was obvious there were casualties.
"Chase." I whispered reaching to touch his shoulder.
As soon as my hand touched his back he tensed, "Go to the pack doctor and see if you can help there."
His tone was cold and harsh. I quickly pulled my hand back and dropped my head as I walked towards the doctors.
The closer I got,the louder the screams and cries were.
"Where is my sister?" I could tell by the high pitch it was a young child.
"We'll find her soon." I nurse tried to soothe the child as I approached the room.
As soon as I entered,the nurse stood at attention and bowed. The child still crying and sobbing harshly.
"Luna I didn't except you back so soon."
"Please make sure Chase is immediately informed of the missing child. I want it at the top of his list. Tell him I sent you."
She bowed before she quickly rushed out of the room her flats making an awkward flapping sound as she briskly walked.
I smiled softly at the crying child who looked no older than 8, "What's your name?"
"I-Isaac." he whimpered, "W-will you find m-my sister?"
I nodded as I sat in the chair beside his hospital bed.
"Can you tell me everything you remember?"
"My sister told me to hide and she promised to protect me." his voice cracked as his cries turned to sobs.
I held his hand rubbing my thumb over his knuckles as he told me everything he remembered. From the time Nate informed everyone of the intrusion up until the time his sister locked him a closet and left.
She was taken and if Chase wasn't worried about her I sure as hell was. Her name was Hope,14 and a half Isaac had to clarify. If Chase wasn't in the process of sending out a search party right now,then I was going on my own. Of course it's not safe and its a stupid idea,but I would risk it if it meant saving the girl who had only started to live her life.
It's about to go down😏
