Past Friends

"I'm leaving as soon as I turn eighteen" I scream to my parents down the stairs, they're trying to send me to boriding school away from my friends and the family I actually care about. I wake up early into the morning to the wind outside beating aginst my window. I cant stay here anymore, I grab a bag and some clothes as well as some snacks I pick up my stuff and jump out my window landing quietly on my feet.

I run out into the back forest hopping I never see that blasted house again, I trip on a branch and fall flat on my face. my leg burns like hell I see its bleeding and I try to cope with the pain, "you need some help?" said someone I look up and see a girl with orange hair smiling at me. I nod she helps me up and grabs my bag, we walk deeper into the forest till we reach a wooden shack.

we walk inside, my eyes light up at the sight of  fairy lights covering the ceiling, a bean bag on the ground along with a bunch of weird bottles with different colored liquids inside. she sets me down on the bean bag and runs over to a bottle with purple liquid inside, she pours it on my cut I feel a slight sting but then the cut is gone.

"how did you do that?" I ask she smiles "with magic of course, whats your name human?" I smile "my name is Camilla but you can call me cam" the other girl
smiles "I'm Eda nice to meet you cam" we talk for a few hours before I start to yawn, "are you tired?" she asks me I nod she does some weird glowing circle in the air and a blanket appears. we fall asleep on the bean bag that was the beginning.

she took me to the boiling isles a few times, we would stay up all night talking about random stuff she told me she was running away from her family too she has a curse that they wanted to cut it out of her, for the next few years we would switch from place to place the best of friends till one day that changed. I found a guy one day he was so sweet and kind I loved him or so I though.

I told Eda and she was happy for me. one day we were walking on the isles when we found a house that was a bit rundown but we both liked it very much inside we found a little boy about three he had a skull he would place on his head we decided to keep him and name him king it was great until I got pregnant my boyfriend at the time was so happy but deep down I knew he was pissed.

Eda told me she needs to stay in the boiling isles so we agreed that some day some how we would see each other again so we went our different ways. she started dating a someone named Raine and I well I had Luz and it was great for a few years then Luz's father had an affair I tried to confront him about it but it only lead to abuse after luz yelled at him that night I saw the light in my daughter's eyes go out.

I tried to make that spark come back but it never did...

"and that's how I met Eda" I said I watch Luz's face give me a confused look "so you knew about magic and stuff" I nodded. "could I talk to Eda in private" I ask Luz nods and walks up to her room. "I'm soo glad to see you Camilla its been so long" she says and hugs me "yeah it has wait how's king?" Eda smiles "he's great almost six I found out what he is hes half demon half witch half something else I'm still not sure but he doesn't age like a normal kid" she says I nod "that's interesting" we talk for a little long before I question comes to mind.

"hey Eda?" she looks over at me "yeah?" I sigh "Luz hates it here she finds it boring and has gotten into fights at school do you think maybe if she wants to you could take her for a little and see how she Likes the boiling isles?" Eda smiles "I would love to" we both walk up to Luz's room. I push the door open and see her on her phone. "hey Luz I have a question to ask you." she puts her phone down and swings her feet off the bed

"I was wondering if you would want to go stay with Eda for a little while till I get my new job set up and see how you like the boiling isles?" I watched her think about it "will you be ok without me" she asks I sigh "I'll managed" I say and sit next to her. "and kid if you want to come back you can come back anytime you like" Eda says Luz nods "ok sure I'll go I have been wanting something different to do" smile "good, you can pack up what ever you want to take when your ready" I say me and Eda walk downstairs I'm going to miss her but I need her to enjoy life not stay in her room day and night......
