Third Person
New York City, 1985.
An old woman sits in her living room watching the daily news, all they were talking about was the discovery of the Titanic, and she was a survivor. Riley Matthews was her name. She was around 90 years old, her thick brown hair was just memories and her skin was losing its health. As she sipped a cup of tea, the news man started to tell a news story."We are finding all kinds of objects that have made it through the sinking and all of these years, from baby dolls to jewelry. Including this bracelet we found." He held up the bracelet and Riley's eyes grew wider as she saw it.
"Well I'd be darned." she said, taking in the moment on her tv. That was her bracelet she got on the Titanic, and it had special meaning to her.
She started listening to the news again. "... This bracelet has to be worth about 10.5 million dollars, at least. We hope to find the owner of it, alive or dead, to give the possession back to its rightful owner or family."
Right away, Riley called the newscast and her excitement was about to explode up inside of her. She lost everything from the sinking, and this was one of the most important things she could have back.
At the sight of the news team
Marilyn Clancy's phone started to ring and she picked it up."Hello?"
"Hello, I was calling about the bracelet?"
"Oh yes! Let me get Jack on the phone."
Jack Maid, the head of the news team, was hard at work today with all of the Titanic stuff that was happening. His eyes were heavy and he just wanted to go home.
"Jack!" Marilyn said, running towards him.
"What?"
"We have a caller about the bracelet, I really think you should answer it."
All he did was deep sigh. He didn't have enough energy for this.
"Oh and she's a little old," Marilyn said, handing over the phone. "So you're going to have to speed up."
"Joy." Jack said sarcastically. Marilyn rolled her eyes. "Keep an open mind, Jack."
"Yeah, yeah." He said putting the phone to his ear. "Hello?"
"Hello."
"So, do you have any idea of who's bracelet this is, miss?"
"Oh yes." Riley said. "The bracelet your talking about, is mine."
Jacks eyes grew wide and he was speechless.
"Sir?"
"Yes, I'm here, so you were on the titanic when it sank?"
"I was, I was seventeen years old to be exact."
"So you still remember what happened?"
"Yes, it is very clear. One of those memories I'll never forget."
"I must get your information! I can go to your house, and set up an interview. It's always great to get an eyewitness account from such tragedies."
"Very." Riley said.
___
A couple minutes later, Jack handed the phone back to Marilyn, "Get the van ready, we're going to an old women's house."A big smile appeared on her face, for she believed Riley was telling the truth.
At Riley's House
Riley did her best to straighten up her home, as much as an old women could do. Finally, the news team got there and set up cameras. Jack and Marilyn sat on the couch a crossed from where Riley sat."So Riley," Jack started, "Are you ready to go back to the Titanic?"
