The next morning, I wake up to the sound of chatter and laughter as I groggily sit up. I run a hand through my hair as I untangle the knots, wondering how many hours I spent last night tutoring Potter and teaching him certain spells. I smile feebly at the memories, the awful Quidditch lesson that he gave me yesterday that felt as though it was years ago. We had stayed up all night the night prior studying for the first task, which still remained unknown. Then there was the ten questions I got to ask Potter, and I grin at the memory as I pull a shirt over my head. Tonight, however, our session had been cancelled due to the interviews Potter would have to do, along with the rest of the champions.

When I walk into the common room, I look around to see the entirety of our year gathered around Malfoy, snickering and laughing as he raises a certain badge in the air.

"Just made these yesterday," he boasts as I join the group, "they're quite nice, aren't they?" His eyes suddenly then meet mine and he grins, turning to face me. "Oh, Y/n! Haven't seen these yet, have you?" I quicken my pace, hoping to avoid an encounter with Malfoy, but am stopped when I feel his hand push me back. If it wasn't for the people around, I probably would've murdered him right on the spot.

I roll my eyes as I sling my bag over my shoulder, "Draco, I honestly don't care."

"Oh, cmon, now!" He says, pleading. "Just look!"

He. hands me a badge and I sigh as I look down at it, and my lips instantly curl into a sneer.

"Malfoy, what the hell is this?"

"Just supporting our Hogwarts champion," Draco answers innocently with a shrug. I look down at the badge again and read the words imprinted on the ridiculously large badge: Support Cedric Diggory: The Real Hogwarts Champion. "Try tapping it," Draco suggests, sneering. The Slytherins all around snicker as I look at him suspiciously before tapping the Badge. The text instantly shifts to "Potter stinks!" I pause for a moment as I examine the badge some more, in a bit of a shock as I look back up at Malfoy. I shouldn't be mad. I hardly knew Potter, but I couldn't help but feel my fists curl as I stare at the badge. I open my mouth to say the worst insult I think of, and I think hard for a moment for something. There are so many things I want to say, and I see Malfoy raise an eyebrow in anticipation. He wants me to lash out at him, and I won't give him the satisfaction. I grit my teeth.

"I'll see you in potions, Malfoy" is all I say as I storm out of the common room.

.....

I wake up, dripping in sweat and struggling to breathe as I sit up. I look around to see everyone's still asleep. Of course they are. I sigh and collapse back onto my bed, hugging my pillow tighter to my chest as I fight the tears threatening to spill.  Adrian is getting the dark mark soon, and there's nothing I can do about it. The clock is ticking, and I don't have much time.

Lord Voldemort is returning.

As I slip out of bed and put my jacket on, there's only one person I want to see right now, and he's not in the Slytherin common room.

When I finally make it to the kitchens, I seize the door handle with a trembling hand and swing open the door. I smile when I see him, hugging his arms tight to chest as he ignores the untouched cup of hot chocolate sitting beside him. His dark hair falls down his forehead as he stares at nothing in particular. The moment I step forward, he snaps his head back towards me and smiles. Why does he make me feel the strangest things when I'm with him? Why does he make me feel as if there are butterflies in my stomach? I hate the feeling. I want it to stop, but for the most twisted reason, I don't.

"I had a feeling I'd find you here," Potter murmurs as I take a seat next to him. I tilt my head. He looks tired, worn out, as if the pressures of the Triwizard tournament were finally beginning to catch up with him. It's quiet for a moment. "You had a nightmare?" He then questions.
