I can't help but feel tense as I sit alone in my bedroom, legs hanging off of the edge of my bed. It is so quiet that all I can hear is the sound of my own heartbeat, which seems to fill the empty silence. I scan the room, searching for people, specifically my parents or Adrian.
But they're not here.
I draw in a sharp breath.
Relax, Y/n. Of course they're not here. They left hours ago.
I glance to my side where my packed bag sits. It's small- only large enough to fit a change of clothes and a few toiletries. Despite the nerves that seem to seep through every inch of my body, a small smile tugs at the corner of my lips.
Adrian and the rest of my family left only a few hours ago. Although they said that they would be staying at the Malfoy's for a brief amount of time, they didn't say why. However, I didn't need them to explain anything. I already knew.
Despite this, I wasn't upset. At least it wasn't me who was coming with them. At least my left forearm was bare- only skin and bone. At least I was safe, for now.
Merlin's beard, I can't believe I'm doing this.
And then, a loud tapping noise shakes me back into reality.
I let out a small gasp and jerk my head towards the large window in my room. When I see who it is, however, with his messy hair and stupid grin plastered across his face, my shoulders instantly relax. I crack a wide smile and jog towards the window, swiftly unlocking it as I swing it open.
"Hi." Harry breathes as I help pull him inside. He then sits on the window still and puts his hands on his knees to catch his breath. He glances up at me and smiles. "I missed you."
I don't hesitate as I lean in to kiss him, my hands swiftly finding his hair and gently tugging at it. I feel him smile through it as he slowly stands up and walks me towards my bed. For just a moment, he briefly breaks away from the kiss as his hands wrap around my waist to lift me up and place me on it.
And then he's on top of me.
He presses his lips against my neck and slowly works his way down as my hands trickle down his back, feeling every muscle as I do so.
Suddenly, I push him off of me. We both sit upright and lock eyes, and he raises an eyebrow in confusion.
"Potter, as much as I'd love to continue, we have to get going, you know," I say. I then hop off the edge of the bed and sling my bag over my shoulder. I glance back at him as I add, "And I missed you too, by the way."
"I know," Harry says with a smirk as he follows me. He extends his hand and interlocks his fingers with mine, and I smile at the gesture. "You have the floo powder, right?"
"I'm not an idiot, Potter," I say with a laugh. "Of course I do."
"Just making sure," he mumbles, a hint of bitterness in his voice. However when I glance back at him, a small flickers across his features.
It feels weird- having Harry in my house. I study him carefully as he looks around, taking in every inch of the space. I don't miss it, and suddenly, my cheeks go slightly pink.
I lead him downstairs, and his widen as he eyes the entry hall, which is without a doubt the most impressive portion of the house- with it's high ceiling, dark tiled floor and shimmering chandelier hanging above.
A knowing smile crosses Harry's face, and my eyebrows furrow.
"What?" I ask, surprised when my voice cracks into a nervous laugh as I warily look at Harry, suddenly feeling embarrassed.
