I had to hand it to Granger, using the room of requirement as a space to meet up was a brilliant idea- one that hadn't even occurred to me until I had walked through the entrance. I had missed the first official meeting not long ago due to having to help Blaise with a potions assignment. Blaise and Daphne had already been suspicious of me when I had pretended to be sick to go to the hogs head, so I knew I had to be more careful if was going to make this operation work.
Several students were already inside, talking loudly. The walls were linked with wooden cases, and large silk cushions were scattered throughout the flooring. A smile crosses my face, and I give a slow nod of approval as I scan the room.
Well done, Granger.
I spot Harry ahead, who is mid-conversation with Ron and Hermione. When I push past the door, his eyes land on me instantly, and he beams. I can't help but smile as well.
I approach the three Gryffindor's. Ron is in the middle of saying something, but falters when he sees me walking towards them. Once again, he fails to hide his disgust, an uneasy expression on his face.
"I like what you've done with the place, Granger," I say to Hermione, ignoring Ron.
"Thanks, Y/n, but it was actually Harry's idea to use the room of requirment," Hermione says, looking proud as Harry goes slightly pink.
I raise an eyebrow, and a grin tugs at the corner of my lips. "Really?" I say, turning to face Harry. I give a nod of approval. "I guess you aren't so hopeless after all, Potter."
"Shut up," Potter mutters, smiling feebly and giving me the finger in reply.
"God, I can't believe you let a Slytherin in here, Harry," Ron groans, burying his face in his hands.
"It's good to see you too, Weasley," I say sarcastically before anyone can interject. I look back at Harry, then add, "Sorry I'm late, by the way. Daphne wouldn't leave me alone for the past hour. How's the meeting been so far?"
"It's been good," Harry says, gesturing towards the dozens of students that are practicing spells in pairs of two. I wrinkle my nose in disgust when I spot Zacharias Smith in the corner as well. I had secretly hoped that he wouldn't show. "You haven't missed much, anyway. We're working on the stunning spell right now."
Without meaning to, my eyes flicker over to Weasley, who is already staring at me with a sour look on his face. A smirk tugs at the corner of my lips as I recall hexing him with the stunning charm last year during Professor Moody's class. If Ron hadn't liked me before, that certainly hadn't helped.
"Don't worry, Weasley," I say teasingly, "I won't hex you this time."
I'm certain that he doesn't mean to, but Ron only lets out a small smile in response as he scoffs.
"And," Hermione adds, a grin plastered across her face, "we came up with a name."
I raise an eyebrow, an unexpected smile playing on my lips. "Really? Let's hear it, then."
"Dumbledore's army," Weasley informs me, a small look of pride on his face. "My sister's idea, actually."
Dumbledore's army. I let the name hang in the air for a moment, then give a slow nod of approval.
"I like it." I finally decide, my eyes meeting Harry's. With a twinge of embarrassment, I realize that I still get nervous looking into them, even after all this time.
"I'm glad," Harry says with a grin, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind, making my stomach instantly do backflips. Again, I inwardly slap myself, but allow it, anyway. "I would've changed it for you if you didn't."
