"The number you're trying to reach has not answered, please try again later"
I end the call with a frustrated sigh and try again but it just repeats the same thing. I've been trying to get a hold of her for the past hour but still no answer.
Where the hell is she?
She was supposed to be back hours ago.
I really hope nothing happened to her.
I end the call again with another frustrated sigh before putting my phone on the bedside table.
"Henry, where's Eureka?" Max asks as he walks towards my bed and lays down. He woke up 30 minutes ago and has been asking about her because she wasn't there when he woke up.
"She went out" I say and get up to put a shirt on. I go to grab my black hoodie but realize it's gone.
I swear girl never buy their own hoodies.
"Okay" He says before taking my phone and starts playing his game.
Yesterday it was Eureka's phone but now that she's not here I guess it's my turn.
"Let's go eat breakfast" I find another hoodie to wear before we both walk out towards the kitchen.
We get there and I find my family and the smiths in a heated conversation but the moment they see Max and I they all go quiet.
I didn't even know they where here.
"Good morning" Max and I both greet everyone at the table before he goes back to his game. He's been obsessed with math and science games for some time now.
Not that I mind but come on, he is six.
We move towards the table and take a seat. I sit next to mom and fill Max's plate with eggs and bacon and his glass with apple juice. He is just like Eureka, they both hate orange juice. Sometimes I wonder if they switched me at birth.
Those two have so much in common. Like come on who doesn't like orange juice? Right?
I then fill my plate with the same thing but with orange juice since it's the better juice but everyone seems to disagree with me.
"Where's Eureka?" Michael asks making everyone turn to looks at me waiting for an answer.
Boy I wish I knew too
"Out" I give them a simple reply but it doesn't seem to satisfy their curiosity
"Out where?" This time it's Elijah who asks.
If this boy doesn't shut his stupid ass up, I will literally put a bullet in his head. If he knew the amount of hatred I have toward him he would go and jump off a cliff.
"Out" I say more sternly this time and send a glare his way.
He's about to say something else when I immediately change the topic of discussion.
"Where are they?" I ask and they all go silent as if knowing who i was refearing to.
"Out" Lucas replies but looks down at his plate in guilt again after he meets my eyes for a second
"Oh so you can send the five year old who did nothing away but not the one who actually did something?" I ask with a humorless laugh.
It's funny how these people want to act like saints now and try to fix everything with just a simple talk and expect to be forgiven.
Just when he's about to reply my phone rings and my heart rate picks up because of the ringtone that is my grandpa's. Both Eureka and I chose ringtones for him and it was really funny seeing his reaction when he found out the songs we picked but now as the song keeps playing I can't help but pray for myself.
I take my phone from Max who didn't answer but instead pushed the notification away and swallow the lump in my throat and picked up ignoring all the eyes on me.
"Henry why can't I reach Eureka? I need her for something" he says the moment the call goes through.
Wow not even a 'hello. How are you doing'
I love my grandpa a lot. I wouldn't be where I am today without his help, none of us would be.
"She went out" I hesitantly reply
"Out where?"
"....."
"I asked you a question Henry. Out where?"
"She went to meet Damien" I whisper hoping he didn't hear me but unfortunately he did.
"When?"
"Around 5:00 am" I say and he immediately hungs up.
(Their conversation was in French, I just felt really lazy to translate)
Grandpa has never trusted the Russians and Eureka has been trying to get him to see reason but if anything happens to her because of Damien, he would not hesitate to kill them all.
Where are you Eureka?
I send her another text message but she still doesn't reply or even read it just like the once I've already sent.
Something is definitely wrong. She always replies and picks up on the second ring.
I log into our system trying to find her location. Every assassin has a tracker planted in them the moment they become one.
I wait for a couple of seconds as it starts loading. My phone dings and I look at the screen only to notice that she is still in the country. I zoom in on the red dot to get a closer look at her exact location but the the dot moves to a new location.
This time it shows that she is in France. Two seconds later it shows that she is in Spain. After that it shows China, Russia, Brazil, Germany, Canada, Greece and a lot of other countries and soon my screen was filled with red dot and the only sound around the table was the ding coming from my phone.
"What's wrong?" Gabriel is the first to ask when he see my horrified expression as I keep staring at my phone hoping what I was seeing was wrong and that she was okay, but we all know that's not true.
"Something's wrong with Eureka" I finally say and the atmosphere around the table changes.
