One More Day

-Taylor's POV-
We walk in hand in hand and the waiter seats us. I glide in my heels to my seat and Sam pulls my chair out for me and pushes me in. Looking at his butt as he's walking to his seat, he turns around and catches me looking.
"I saw that." He said to me pulling out his chair and sitting down.
"You saw what?", I asked him leaning on one elbow across the very made up table, looking at him.
"You were checking out my butt.", now he's laughing because he does it to me all the time.
"Excuse me, sir, but who is the one who is always grabbing my butt? Not only that, but you also grab my thighs. So don't even go there." He takes my hand in his, and kiss it. The waiter asks us what we want to drink and Sam answers for the both of us. He knows that I like diet Pepsi and he always gets sprite.
"Babygirl, do you know why I brought you here tonight?"
"I don't think so,why?" I asked concerned.
"You know I'm sick and I'm not getting any better. I didn't want to keep this from you any longer. My lung disease is back and stronger than ever. The doctors say I only have six months to a year left. And I want to spend the rest of my time here on earth with you as much a possible."
A feel a tear come streaming down my face and he wipes it away.
"Baby this can't be happening. I've only had a year with you. That's not enough time. Is there anything I can do?" I'm full out crying now because I love him so much and I don't want him to die.
"As matter of fact, you can.",he tells me as he's pushing himself out of his chair. He reaches into his suit pocket and pulls something out. He gets down on one knee and says," Will you do the honor of becoming my wife? "
"Yes!! A million times yes baby.", I kinda stopped crying sad tears and now I'm crying of overwhelming joy. He gets up, takes me into his arms and we embrace each other as if no one else was with us. Sliding the ring on my finger, I kiss him passionately. He takes his seat again and the waiter comes back to take our order. We both get a salad and I take Sam's hands into mine and say 'I love you'.

-Sam's POV-
I'm so glad she said yes because I don't know what I would do if she hadn't. I love her so much that the pain is going to unbearable when I have to leave her to visit my lord and savior, Jesus Christ, in heaven. The doctors told me that I have a thirty percent chance of kicking the cancers butt. I've been going to therapy and the hospital for the past two months and they tell me I have to do radiation and chemo. I don't want to lose my hair but if that is the only way to live, then so be it.
"Taylor, I have one more thing to tell you."
"I'm ready for anything you throw at me, babe."
"Ok, I've been going to the hospital and the doctors tell me I have to do chemo."
"What does that mean Sam?"
"Baby, my hair is going to be gone. I'll be bald in two and a half weeks.", I tell her tugging at my black hair.
"What?! No more late night kisses with hair pulling and me putting you to sleep by messing with your hair?"
"That's what I'm saying. I know it's gonna suck but I can get a wig or something like that." The look on her face is too painful to look so I look away. I can't stand to see her so broken up about something so stupid such as losing my hair. But it could be she's still sad about our limited time together.
"Trust me, I don't like it as much as you do but if that's going to keep me alive then I'll do it. I realize I have little time left with you and I just wanna make the best of it." I didn't care about dinner. I pulled out a hundred dollar bill and layed it in the table. Grabbing Taylor's hand, we made our toward the door. I just wanted to be alone with her. So I took her to the one spot I knew no one else would be. We got into her car and I drive to where this all started. That empty field where I asked her to be mine and only mine.
