THIRD POV
Kasey held TK's hand as he unconsciously laid in the bed, she would slightly squeeze it every now and then, waiting to see if he would squeeze back...but he didn't, he was still sleeping. The heart monitor next to her beeped, reassuring herself that TK was still alive, that his heart was still going, that he was going to be okay.
Owen was sat on a chair on the other side of the bed, holding his other hand as he too hoped that TK was going to be okay.
"A little kid accidental shot him?" Kasey asked for about the fifth time.
Owen sighs, a little fed up with the questions from his youngest.
"Yes."
"Is the kid alright?"
"I don't know."
"I mean, he did it out of protection, he thought TK was someone else, I don't blame the kid, but who the hell gives a child a gun, y'know? But the kid much be scared shitless, not knowing what is-"
"Kasey."
"Sorry." Kasey looked down with a slight frown, one leg bouncing due to the area she was in.
Ding!
Owen looked up, startled at the sound of noise that came from opposite him, and with wide eyes Kasey quickly pulled her phone out to see a message from Eddie.
And Kasey could almost smile at the sight of his name on her home screen.
Eddie: Hey, I just wanted to check in and see if TK has improved.
Kasey looked up from her phone to give a worrying glance over her brother once again before looking back down, licking over the chapped part of her lip from the lack of care she's been giving herself, before looking back at her phone to type a message.
