~VIRAT x SAMAIRA
She closed her eyes, her courage failing her as she stood so close to him. Her legs trembled, making it hard to stand without the wall's support. God knew what he was about to say.
"Why? Why, Samaira, why?" Virat finally spoke, breaking the silence. His voice was strong. She slowly opened her eyes, swallowing hard. Her eyes met his, and suddenly she forgot how to breathe.
It wasn't the right moment, but he couldn't help but notice how graceful she looked. Everything about her was perfect. Her eyes were devastating—large, dark, and inviting, like open windows decent people draped.
"Why, Sam? What the hell is all this?" He banged his fist on the wall in anger.
She squeezed her eyes shut. They were so close that she knew a slight move would lead to a kiss, which he wouldn't mind. She closed her eyes again, taking a deep breath to calm herself.
"I... I wanted to tell you everything, Virat, but not like this."
He held her face, making her look straight into his eyes. "Why did you hide it from me?"
Those eyes were to be loved and feared the most.
"No one knew, Virat. This was a surprise for me too. I wanted to tell you everything, but I never thought it would come out like this. Everything happened suddenly, and yes, whatever he said is right. I am engaged." She showed him her ring, tears falling down her cheeks.
He still couldn't believe her words. He was hurt, his anger overpowering everything. He hated that there was no one to blame. That ring signified she belonged to someone else, which he could never accept. He owned her since day one, and nothing could lessen his desire to have her, to claim her for eternity.
He recollected her words before speaking further. "I can't change your past, Samaira. I don't know how it all happened, but what I know is nothing can change the fact that I love you. You are made to be mine, only mine and I won't let anyone come between us. We are destined to be together."
The way their fingers intertwined felt so natural and right, as if their hands held memories of meeting in a thousand other lifetimes. Her heart fluttered at his reply. The feelings were crystal clear.
"This just can't happen, Virat!" She was crying now, unable to believe it. He wiped her tears with his hand, and she failed to suppress a sob.
"No one can stop this to happen except you. Look into my eyes and tell me there's nothing between us, and I swear I'll never show you my face again. But I want you to tell this to my face!" He took a step back after this deadly statement.
She couldn't believe her ears. Her lips trembled, unable to answer him. No matter what, she couldn't deny the feelings. She just ran without saying a word. Maybe her silence was already an answer. He kept looking at her until she disappeared from his sight. She turned around at the door to get one last view of the charming man standing there. Their eyes met and did wonders once again in that brief moment.
Grace was in all her steps, heaven in her eyes, in every gesture dignity and love. She went straight to her room, closed the door, and the stored tears continued to flow. Sobs wracked her body, barely allowing a breath to be drawn. She kept thinking about why Virat came into her life. Everything was going fine until he came. She was not in love with Abhay but was waiting for that to happen, and everything changed since Virat entered her life.
