I'm a mess

Alana: Maddie, why have you been so quiet lately?

Madison: *she lied* I've just been a little under the weather.

Alana: Is it something you wanna talk about?

Madison: Not at the moment Lana.

Brittany: *hugged her* You'll be okay honey.

Madison: Thanks Brit.

*Nathaniel approached their table and Madison started to pack her things*

Nathaniel: Hey guys. *he kissed Alana on the cheek*

Brittany: Hey.

Madison: Hi. Bye. *she put on her backpack and walked away*

Nathaniel: What's up with her?

Brittany: Not a clue.

*Madison's POV*

That was so awkward. Why did I do that? Sigh. I need to get out of my head. He wasn't there for even a second and I dashed off like some crazy person. I hope they don't read into it. I just can't control my emotions when he's around. He kissed her and it reminded me so much of when he would kiss me. I miss that. I miss him. I shouldn't miss him. She would hate me if she knew I had feelings for him. I did give her my blessing to be with him. Now I want him all for myself. What am I going to do? If I get back together with him, I'm gonna lose my friendships but if I don't, I may be losing the love of my life. He used to call me Mrs. Perfect. I've grown to love that nickname. What if he is my Mr.Perfect? Damn. I need this to stop. I'm a complete mess. It's so unfair that he has the best options. If we get back together, he won't have to deal with the mess of losing a friend too. I can't do it.

*Nathaniel's POV*

Why does she keep avoiding me? I want to spend time with her. We may not be alone but just being able to see her beautiful eyes is enough. What if she's having doubts? Could she not want me anymore? Or maybe she is just overthinking things because she does that way too much. I'm a mess. I keep thinking about her all the time. Sometimes I'll catch myself daydreaming about our kiss. This is becoming harder. What if I say or do the wrong thing? I'll lose them both forever. What am I gonna do?
