I alighted from the car to see a breathtaking school. It was a massive castle with 4 long towers on each side. The buildings themselves were grey but color surrounded them and the students wore colorful uniforms that lit up the school. People stopped to look at us but when they saw Grandma D, they continued walking. Grandma D led us into the school and students avoided us and their principal like the plague. The teachers smiled at us but avoided Grandma D's eyes. I think everyone fears her here too. We walked along the strange corridors until we reached a massive wooden door with Grandma D's name engraved on it.

"DRSJR," Grandma D bellowed and the door opened.

"Darcy, Rosalie, me, Jacklyn, and Rosalie again," Aunt Sam chuckled and we entered.

I was hit with fresh sent of flowers and forest. Her office was massive and homely. The room was warm and the furniture looked comfortable. I sat down on the soft couch in the corner of the room. On Grandma D's desk were paperwork and an air freshener that was making it smell like this. Aunt Sam joined me on the couch but her posture was stiff because Grandma D was still in the room.

"So, I'm going here now?" I asked.

"Yes, my dear, it is a perfect school for you. Now, a student in your year will be here soon to show you to your quarters. Come here tomorrow after breakfast and get your schedule," Grandma D explained.

A knock on the door interrupted our conversation. Grandma D beckoned for whoever it is to come in and the door opened. A girl around my age stood at the door, she had a shy expression on her face. Her brown eyes shone with innocence and her blond hair was done in a loose braid. The light makeup she was wearing showed her soft features.

"Ah Lexi, come in. Meet my granddaughter Rosalie and Professor Adler, the new Stonewall History teacher. Yes, we are both Professor Adler," Grandma D introduced and Lexi walked timidly towards us.

"Hello," she murmured.

I followed Lexi out of the room and she visibly relaxed as soon as Grandma D was out of sight. Lexi led me through the school to a massive staircase. We walked up the hundreds of steps until we reached another wooden door.

"Girls united in 4th year," she spoke clearly.

There was a whole other world behind those doors. As I looked down the endless corridor, I saw hundreds of dorm room doors. Oh, this is where people in our year sleep, I realized. I followed Lexi until she stopped at Dorm 53. She unlocked the door and we walked in. There were four beds laid next to each other. They all looked completely different. Lexi sat down on the second one in, she had a pink bedspread on and looked utterly comfortable. Two identical girls strutted in and sat down on their beds. They both had the whole mean girl/ barbie thing going on. Blond hair, blue eyes, and expensive clothes.

"The twisted twins," Lexi whispered in my ear and I chuckled.

"Who's this?" one of the twins asked.

"Rose Adler," I said confidently.

"Well Adler, welcome to our horrible school. My name's Bianca and this is my twin Bree," Bianca sneered.

"Bianca, can we go to the party now?" Bree whined.

"Fine, bye Rose," they said and left completely ignoring Lexi.

"Ugh, I hate them," Lexi yelled throwing a pillow at the door.

"I'm tired, let's talk tomorrow Lexi," I said and laid down.

I fell asleep quickly and without any problem, I could hear Lexi was still awake but I didn't care right now.

Waking to loud noises, I opened my eyes to see Lexi arguing with the twisted twins. I got up and fixed my hair, Lexi was waiting when I got out of my bathroom. Following her to the dining hall, I ate as quickly as I could and then rushed to Grandma D's office. I needed a uniform, I was sick of people staring at me because of my random clothes, the attention was annoying and not fun. I arrived at her office, said the password, and walked in. Grandma D and Aunt Sam were already there. I sat down next to Aunt Sam and Grandma D handed me my timetable.

"What do you have?" Aunt Sam asked.

"Maths first, then Stonewall history, and tonight I have Astronomy. Woah, I have a class at midnight," I exclaimed.

"What?" Aunt Sam asked dumbfounded.

"Yes, well you can't do Astronomy in the daytime. Now here is your uniform, treat it with pride," Grandma D replied and handed me my uniform.

I bid farewell to them and met Lexi who was waiting outside. She led me to a bathroom and I changed into the uniform, tucking in my shirt and straightening the skirt. It was weird wearing exactly what my mum and my Aunt wore in the photo.

Lexi was leaning against the wall outside waiting, I smiled at her and she returned it. Maybe I had a friend already, hopefully, I won't stuff it up as like always.

"So, Rose, what is your first class?" she asked.

"I have to go to Math," I answered.

"Well, I've got math too. Come on, it's with Professor Carmon. She is super scary. No one, not even the staff talk to her if not necessary. Everyone hates her," Lexi explained.

"Oh ok," I replied and followed her around the school.

We reached classroom B5 and Lexi knocked on the door. A scowling woman stepped out of the classroom. Her long black hair was pulled into a tight ponytail and she was wearing a floor-length black dress. She had the look of someone you did not want to mess with. She was even scarier than Grandma D. Though there was something familiar about her, almost like I've seen her before.

"Why are you late?" she hissed.

"We were with Professor Adler. This is Rose Adler, the Principal's granddaughter," Lexi introduced.

Her eyes lit up with recognition, tinged with sadness and she sighed, "Fine, sit down."

Professor Carmon pushed us into the room and the chatter stopped immediately, all eyes turned to us. I noticed there were no boys in the classroom, as a matter of fact, I haven't seen any boys since I've been here. This school must be an all-girls school, that's just great. Lexi grabbed my hand and we sat alone in the front row.

"Take out your textbook and turn to page 22. Finish every question and NO TALKING!" Professor Carmon yelled and I put my hand up.

"I don't have a book," I stated.

"Use Miss Lovelace's book. See me after class Miss Adler," Professor Carmon grunted in annoyance and then went back to staring into space.

Lexi moved her textbook closer to me so I could see. I smiled in gratitude and got to work on the questions. It was surprisingly easy. Just as I finished the questions the bell rang for the end of class. Lexi squeezed my shoulder and shuffled out of the room with everyone else. Professor Carmon got up and closed the door blocking out the prying eyes of other students. I should be afraid like everyone else but I'm not, she just doesn't scare me for some reason.
