Lovers reunited and tough times

Today is the day that Kai returns from Nairobi he's expected to return at 6:30pm. Everyone was excited about that even Lucious, he'd grown to like Kai unfortunately though Zain wasn't feeling the same way . Since starting back at school on Monday he'd been in one hell of a mood. Partly because he's a teenage boy and also because his routine had been shaken up since returning back to normal " Is Z up yet he needs his medication " no he still in a badass mood he's definitely his daddy's son"he'll snap out of it in a few days" Lucious said while eating . Suddenly footsteps were heard echoing through the halls. " Oh so you up now?" Cookie said as Zain entered the kitchen. The boy just grunted in response and opened the fridge and got the orange juice out and poured himself a glass as Lucious stood and watched him" come sit down son you gonna have something to eat "no " man you hard work you know that." Listen y'all I gotta go to Empire to talk about the collaboration tour I'll be back by the time Kai's parties in full swing" when I've got dressed you need to have eaten something Z" Cookie made the boy his typical breakfast of pancakes

20 minutes later

Lucious was now dressed and ready for the meeting but things weren't exactly going to plan " hey Cook baby you coming" suddenly Lucious heard the sound of Zain shouting in frustration "what's going on in here?"he spilt water on his iPad and now it's not working it was an accident he was taking his meds" as the pair were talking Zain suddenly threw his iPad on the floor in frustration" he'd been pacing the room a couple of minutes beforehand that's a typical sign of a possible meltdown "broke"Zain said sounding upset " If it wasn't broken before it definitely is now" Lucious sighed picking up the smashed device " why he gotta do this today "why did you do that boy" Lucious stay calm alright just get ready for your meeting" just as Lucious was about to leave the room " Zain grabbed his father's arm and kicked his leg " ahh "Lucious winced but carefully moved Zain into his bedroom " I know you're upset son but I wont let you kick me" Zain tried to get out of his father's hold unfortunately while the young man struggled it caused him to punch his father in the face " oh god are you ok Lucious do you want any help ?" No baby I'm ok just cover for me at the meeting and I'll see you there Lucious said remaining calm " bye baby call me if you need me " Cookie said walking out the house" sit down" Lucious told his son calmly as he let go of him and he sat on the bed and watched Zain take a seat in the corner of the room Hakeem and Tiana's raised voices echoed throughout the halls and the door slammed shut behind them.
Which instantly made Zain jump which caused this frustration  to grow once again.

" Oh what now.. it's alright Z stay here" Lucious walked out of Zain's room to the living room" whatever you two are hollering about now can you please take it someplace else I'm trying to keep Z calm " is he okay?" Hakeem asked "Yeah he just had a meltdown that's all" sorry Lucious i didn't mean to shout so loud" it's okay baby, look whatever problem y'all got come see me at Empire later alright" see you later dad the two men hugged " bye Lucious" bye T" after the couple leave. Lucious turned his attention back to Zain " how you doing Z ?" Lucious asked as he sat back down on the bed Zain looked over at his father and stood up he then walked over to him sat down on his lap and layed his head on his dad's shoulder. This has always been the way that Zain showed affection to his father, which of course Lucious didn't mind but he's always felt guilty because the boy has always been the most affectionate with him in comparison to anyone else in the family. Neither one of them said anything instead they just stayed quiet. Lucious gently rubbed Zain's head" you wanna come with me to Empire ?" Yeah " come on then" Zain nuzzled himself into his father's chest " alright alright 5 more minutes" Lucious said chuckling to himself" suddenly Lucious's phone rang it was Cookie " hey Cook " hi baby everything ok " yeah everything's fine. Z has calmed down now " oh good are you coming to Empire " yeah I'm bringing Z with me though he seems a bit clingy and I don't want to have to call more staff in to look after him cause it could trigger another meltdown" alright I'll get Dre to get him some food. "Alright I'll see you soon" Lucious hung up and gently tapped Zain to get him off his lap " get your shoes son" Lucious said putting his shoes on" Zain came back with his shoes "go now " yeah put your shoes on man " he did what his father asked of him and sure enough they were out the door and heading to Empire.
