The date is currently 5th December

It had been a long night tonight Zain was struggling to sleep as his melatonin medication was running low . This medication helps him sleep and decrease his anxiety. So when it's almost gone or his dosage needs increasing its a struggle. Since the night came he'd been up four times and all occasions were spilt evenly between the carers and his parents. It was clearly taking its toll on the young man who in this moment wasn't sure exactly what it was he needed and struggled to communicate his feelings.

" What's wrong son you alright" Zain didn't say anything instead he just sat down on Lucious's lap " you ain't done this for a while man you know your momma says you getting to big for this now " Zain put his arms around Lucious's neck and layed his head on his shoulder .

Lucious chuckled lightly at this " your such a daddy's boy man you know that you feel a little hot boy this weathers not doing you any good huh?" Cookie walked in and stroked the back of Zain's head " maybe it's the lights them new bulbs we got are brighter than the ones we had before" oh shoot I didn't think of that Lucious said in response to Cookies realisation

" get up for me son " Zain whined at this " hey come on now I'm gonna turn the lights down up you get"come here Zee" Zain looked up at Cookie as she spoke and he hugged her burying his head into the crook of her neck to block out the brightness of the lights" Rob here mom" yes Rob's gonna be staying here for a little while but he's asleep right now we'll see him in the morning Cookie continued as she kept stroking her son's head " there you go man man that's better ain't it now get yourself back to bed okay we're just In here if you need us " I'll take him" cookie said as Lucious put on his silk robe and got in bed and watched his girl and son walk out the room.

The day of Zain's 17th birthday was fast approaching it was only a matter of days away. Thinking about it left Lucious deep in his thoughts. He remembered that day clearly 13th December 1999 ( I ain't good at math forgive me if this doesn't add up but bare in mind this story follows a similar timeline to the original show so the year is 2015) He was 8 weeks early. It was a cold day a blanket of snow covered the ground the 3 older kids had been driving Cookie and Lucious up the wall so Lucious sent her upstairs for a bath and then no more than an hour later Zain Nasir Lyon was born.

Suddenly there was an aggressive knock at the front door " who the hell knocking on my damn door like that " Lucious opened the door surprised as he was met with an angry looking Tiana with a guilty looking Hakeem close by " you know he slept with Anika right!" Nice to see you T" Lucious said
sarcastically

" I didn't " Hakeem muttered sheepishly " yes you did I seen the video Keem " what video?" Lucious questioned " he slept with her when I went to Cali with my girls I saw it on the CCTV I was checking it cus neighbors said there's some guys hanging around . Hakeem looked at his dad and Lucious shook his head

" Is everything okay ?" Mind your business white trash" shut up boy! Yeah everything's fine man you good?" yeah I was just getting a drink "Lucious nodded flashing Rob a kind smile" he felt he needed to protect this young'un ok he's already 17 so he ain't a kid but he's got the vulnerability of someone who needs to be cared for

" Dad!" Zain shouted walking fast paced down the hall" he was almost asleep but then he heard your voice what's going on here " cookie said as she stood beside Zain " nothing baby Keem was just leaving we'll talk tommrow boy it's late come on Zee " I'm  not tired" come on son it's late " cake now " no your birthday ain't for a few days son" oh okay " he suddenly let out a mischievous laugh heading to his parents room.
