It was a very quiet night as nightfall rang across the Williams residence. An older Cassidy was fixing up the car in the driveway as Wakko's children, Jesse and Emily, stood by with her tool box. "Wrench." She held out her toon hand and Jesse handed the wrench to her, while saying "Wrench." to her. Emily sipped on her juice from her cup and watched her aunt fix her brother's car. Emily had began to notice something with the family. They were really really silent after Carrie's death, really only keeping their feelings to themselves. It was beginning to get persistent and she hated silence. Cassidy came back up. "There you go Jesse. that should do it."

"Thanks Aunt Cass." Jesse grinned and gave her back her toolbox, and began to fish around in his wallet to pay her. Then Cassidy stopped him. "You know what? Keep it. It's your hard earned money, and that would be stealing." She told him and pets him, making him laugh a little. "Besides, it's nice to get to spend time with the nicest kids in the world." She pinched Emily's little cheek and Emily giggled while enjoying her sandwich. After swallowing her bite, she chuckled. "Hehe. That tickles." She playfully pushed her away and she hugged them both. "I love you guys."

(Later that night)

Emily couldn't sleep as she sat up in bed. All she could think about was the family spirit. And her mother MacKenzie of course. It hasn't been the same since she passed the day before Carrie. It was basically a bad double whammy for the family. She fixed her pigtails and looked out the window of her room and to the sky. Her eyes laid on the moon and stars, looking at a shooting star go by. She really didn't believe in all of the wishes coming true nonsense as most of her big wishes didn't come true at all.

Wakko opened up the door and looked to her room. "Em? Sweetie pie?" He called to the young human child and Emily turned to her father. "You know it's past your bedtime." He placed a hand on her shoulder, but she moved it away, making Wakko surprised to see his daughter do that. That was nothing like her. At all. "Why did momma have to adopt me out of all kids? I'm nothing like you! I look nothing like you and Jesse!" She told him out of sadness and frustration. Wakko flinched lightly at this as she poured out her emotions to him. He cupped her chubby cute cheeks. "We took you in because we love you. We wanted to take care of you when your other family couldn't."

Emily cried softly into her father's shoulder as her brother Jesse came in, standing in the doorway. "Hey sis. You want to talk about it?" He asked and both Wakko, Emily and himself sat down on her bed. "The kids at school today were picking on me about me not looking like you." She told them as Wakko looked surprised. "They said I don't belong with your family."

(Earlier that day)

Jesse was walking Emily to her school. "Let's get going sis. You don't want to miss movie day at school don't you?" He asked her and Emily shakes her head no. "Oh Nonono. Never!" She puffed her cheeks out, shaking her head no." Then bullies began coming in in the opposite direction of the two of them. "Em, what's wrong?" Jesse asked and Emily pointed to the bullies. "Oh shoot." They tried to avoid them, but of course, avoiding the worst possible situation was the least of their concerns. They came in anyway.

The bullies threw a toon tail, ears, red nose and white gloves at Emily. "Hahahaha!! Now you can really look like your own kind." They laughed more, but it angered Jesse. "Alright, now that is just racist on it's own and you know it!" Jesse growled. "You know she can't be a toon like me or my father. She's special in her own way." Another one of the bullies shoved him down. "Yeah yeah, Jessie James. Whine all you want. It won't-" Jesse hit them off their bikes with his mallet and they walked onward. He held his sister close to him as much as possible.

(End)

Jesse scoffed. "Forget what they said sis, An-" "JUST LOOK AT ME!" Emily grabbed him and she let out more tears. 'Wow. MacKenzie's passing hasn't been easy for her at all..' Wakko sighs and made her let go of her brother. "We are looking at you darling.."

Wakko picked Emily up like he used to do and brought her to the mirror. "Here.. Do you know what we see? I see a cute head.. Two eyes, two ears.." He tugged on her ears, making Emily laugh. "I see two legs, two little feet.." Jesse used a feather to tickle her feet and Emily laughed a little bit more. "And..?" Jesse asked Emily to finish the sentence for them. Emily didn't know if she wanted to say it for them. "Come on, don't make me send out the tickle monster again." Wakko let his hands go into the air

Emily sighs and laughed in a playful defeat. "Okay, okay." Her eyes faced herself in the mirror as she spoke up, saying "A heart pure as gold?" Then both Wakko and Jesse nodded, hugging her. "Yes. You have a heart of pure gold sis. You can't let others bring you down just because you're different than them." Jesse pets his little sister and he laid her back down on her bed while Wakko tucked his little girl into bed.

Emily yawns lightly and Wakko sat down. He began to tell her a story about Carrie's journey. From Rise, to fall, and peace bringing. Everything was given to the kids in very elaborate detail. "Daddy? Why did Great Aunt Carrie lose her immortality?" She asked him and Wakko pets her head. "Maybe one day, you'll figure it out with us. For now, it's time to sleep." Wakko kissed her head and turns off the light. Emily fell asleep and both Jesse and Wakko leave her room, closing the door behind them.
