Chapter 10: ToonTown Welcomes Lyra

Lyra was watching Cassidy work on another invention. From a distance of course. Her eyes were set focused on the schedule of the day that Cassidy had. Her eyes focus on something that said "Go to ToonTown." And she thought about what the place was like. When Cass was finished with her invention for now, she picked up Lyra in her arms. "Hey there Lyra. What'cha looking at?" Lyra then pointed to the to-do list on her wall and Cassidy looked at it. "Oh, that's just my to do list for today. Get groceries, teach a class or two, go to ToonTown and visit the people there." Lyra looked confused when she spoke about ToonTown so she blinked out her question 'Sis, where is ToonTown?'

Cassidy listened to her little sister and looked to her. "Alright kid. ToonTown is where some of our friends live. Even the family that you never got to meet." She pets her gently. "Hey. I got an idea. How about you come with me, Big sister Lauren and Big brother Crakko there and we will introduce you to the people that live there? We know everyone there as if we read the book." She gets her things ready and puts Lyra in her baby carrier, petting her. Lauren and Crakko came over to her and Lauren asked her. "You ready to go?" Cassidy nodded and they all head out together. Aqua sees them going and asked them. "Hey. What's the rush? Where are you guys off to?" She asked the group and Crakko said. "We're going to ToonTown to show Lyra around."

The kids all nodded and Aqua gets up. "Well can I come along with Jesse and Emily? I think it's good to get out of the house." She adjusted her hair and Lauren looked at her siblings. "Sure. The more the merrier." Aqua wagged her tail in excitement. "Oh joy. I'll go get them. I will meet you at the sign." She turned into her wolf form and then goes back to the house where her, Wakko, and their kids lived. The Warner-Nelson Siblings made their way to the sign. "Do you think we will see the family today..?" Crakko asked his sisters and Cassidy looked at him. "Well we can only hope."

(Meanwhile)

Aqua arrived back at the house and turned back to normal and went inside. Wakko was making himself something to eat when she came in. "Hey there lovely." Aqua kissed his cheeks. "You mind if I take the kids out for a bit. We're going to join up with Lauren, Cassidy, Crakko and Lyra and explore ToonTown together." He looked up at her and nodded. "Yeah. Go have fun. Make friends." Jesse and Emily both get up and went back outside. They got on top of her when she turned back into her wolf form. "Alright, hold onto your butts." She runs on all fours and the two hang on. "Yahoo." Jesse cheered and Emily's pigtails flow in the wind created by the sprinting

They arrive where the Warner-Nelson kids were at and Aqua returned to normal. "Alright. We're ready to go." Jesse and Emily get off of her and looked up at the others. "Hi there cousins." Emily grinned and Crakko hugged her. "Hello there Em. Hello Jess." He gave them fist bumps and they all head through ToonTown. Aqua looked around at the dancing trees and birds flying by them. "Wow. This place really is magical like they said it would be." She whispered to herself while they made it to the town square. Many toons greet them on the way in. "You always remember your first time coming into this town. Mom always loved taking us there.

"Look! It's the Nelsons! They're coming our way!" Pinocchio looked to the family coming in and they all turned. Every toon was there to see them. "The Carrie in my world never told me much about her family's past. So this is what they are like?" "Well yes, but actually no. Carrie made them all toons for their afterlife." Cassidy spoke up as they walked in. Lauren told Aqua about each one of them. "The original mother to all toons, Serafima. The all mighty. Her and Eddie right there, alongside Sera's daughter Lucille saved this very place from it's inevitable doom. Thanks to them, where would they even go?" Cassidy looked onward. "That there is Lucille and her Husband Benny. People always called him Brutus."

Crakko decided to carry Lyra and Lauren passed the tiny toon onto him. "Of course, there's Carrie's mom and dad, Daniel and Amelia. You do know them right?" She asked Aqua and she nodded. "Yes. In my world, they are nice and friends with my family.. My creator and Carrie's always changes the story so it's a bit complex." She whispers, rolling her eyes playfully. Toon Carrie comes out of their shadows and sees her children all together. "Kids?" She immediately tears up and rushes to them

Lauren hugged her as did Cassidy. "Mom. We're here." They all share a happy hug and Carrie pulls away to see Lyra. "I-is that..?" "Yes mother. We completed your unfinished 4th Warner. Meet Lyra." Crakko held her out to her and Carrie takes her into her arms. "Well isn't this a sight for sore eyes. Hello kids." Serafima nods her head to them. Lyra was trying to speak something to them. "Oh look, she must have something to say." Amelia got all excited. "Oh my, her first words." "Y..y.." "Hmm.. Yak?" Lucille asked, scratching her head. "Might be." Eddie held onto Serafima as Lyra shook her head and finally said. "You're.. like me?"

"Of course. We're toons. Like you." Carrie grinned and booped her tiny nose. She began to go into a song. "All of us live here in ToonTown, see. All of us different as we can be. Some of us plump, some of us thin. Some who are sad and some who always grin." Daniel went to his daughters side and nodded. "Lyra, we are here to welcome you. And all we want to say is really simple.. plain and true." Lyra wrinkled her nose and then said. "Who.. are you?" She asked Carrie rocked in her arms, continuing to sing to her for the crowd of toons. "I am your mom Carrie. Happy and bouncing all day. That lovely toon's dolly. Wishing all worries away. I stop and say 'Golly. This is too good to be true.' A motherly dolly, plain as can be, with a new daughter that's sweet, just like you."

Aqua was impressed. "And just like the motherly figure we have." Emily and Jesse go up to Carrie. "Oh, Jesse. Emily. I see that your new stepmom is taking very good care of you." She knelt down to their level after giving Lyra back to Crakko. The family decided to join in the little song that Carrie created, Amelia starting them off. She held onto Daniel and kissed him. "Yes that's our girl Carrie. Wonderful and the sun's ray." Then Lucille slow danced with Benny, singing along. "That lovely toon's dolly. Wishing your worries away." "Cause we get so jolly, knowing it's funny, but true. That motherly dolly, sweet as can be, can be friends with the toons around you." Serafima took off her little beret and chuckles. Then all of ToonTown joined in chorus.

"She's the one they call Carrie! Happy and smiling all day! A lovely toon's dolly! Wishing those worries away. Cause we say 'Oh golly!! This is too good to be true!' And now the little sunshine, Lyra can be, the sunshine that's bright just like you!"
