The teacher had wrapped up their introduction and summary of the syllabus that was crowded with too many words. Y/n looked around scanning the room's high walls for a clock of some sort.
11:42
Three minutes left until lunch, her stomach growling at the thought of food.
Looking at the schedule in the front translucent pocket of her small 1-inch binder, she looked for what her sixth period was.
Physics.
"Hey, Corey?" Y/n called her name softly, drawing Corey away from her book.
"Yeah?"
"What do you do during lunch?" Y/n asked, a light blush starting to creep onto their ears in embarrassment.
"I usually go and eat lunch? Well depends on what it is." She said matter-of-factly, Y/n nodding in response.
"Okay, can I eat lunch with you? If that's okay?"
"Of course! Whenever you want." Corey said, her face brightening up as she spoke, it was pretty clear to Y/n that Corey had little to no friends so it was a hope that they could both be each other's companion and help one another out. I mean, after all, Corey had said that she had been going to this school since she had started high school as a freshman.
"Okay, thanks." Y/n smiled happily.
Happy that she's had made a friend.
Before the two of them knew it, the bell had rung and the students moved swiftly out of the class to get to the cafeteria before the lunch line got too long, however, Y/n and Corey lingered behind in the class for a while, just hoping that they wouldn't get caught in the sea of people that moved towards the cafeteria.
"I'm going to go and use the bathroom really quickly okay?" Corey said as the two made their way to one of the classrooms doors.
"Okay, I'll be at my locker. It's like right by the bathroom." Y/n said, with Corey nodding in agreement.

Doing as Luke had told me from earlier in the day about my lock, I was able to get it open within the first try. The door making a loud squeak as it opened, making me cringe at the sound.
'Maybe I shouldn't have picked this locker.' I thought as I unzipped my bag to take out a tablet and put a new one in before I felt someone tap me on the shoulder.
"You ready to go-" I started before realizing that it was in fact not Corey, the smile starting to fade from my face. "What can I do for you?" I said trying not to sound pissed at him.
"You're friends with Corey right?" He asked.
"I guess? I only met her today." I replied skeptically, slightly scared about what he was going to ask.
"Alright cool. I need you to help me." He said, almost seeming as if he were pleading. But I ignored it.
"Okay?"
"I'm going to need your number first." He said slowly.
"Okay what do you really want?" I asked impatiently and slightly annoyed.
"I just really want to get to know her better, but I need you to help me." He had said a tinge of sadness heard in his voice.
"Well, I need to get to know her better too."
"Well, you have a better chance than me." He said, trying his best to prove his point.
"Alright fine." I said, rolling my eyes and finally giving into his antics, making him smile in excitement. "(XXX)XXX-XXXX" I said quickly as he punched in the numbers on his phone.
"Thanks" is what he had told me as he looked up from his phone to my face. But his eyes went right past me, and a smile started to form on his face.
Looking behind me in confusion I saw Corey with a smile on her face, looking right back at him.
"Alright I'll talk to you later." He said before walking in Corey's direction.
"Yep." I said, a small wave of happiness moving through my body. I know I haven't known her for too long, but it was clear that she liked him.
"Hi Corey." He said as he passed her.
"Hey Nick." She's said softly, after he had passed her though she started to walk faster towards me. I could see the blush that started to cover her cheeks, even as she tried to keep her head down in slight embarrassment. "So you know Nick?" She had asked as I close down my locker.
"Yeah, how's about we talk about this during lunch?" I suggested trying to sound like I actually do know him even though that was only the second time I had ever talked to him, and it was for my number. Both of us walking to the cafeteria in hopes of having enough time to eat lunch, and also talk about the current situation, Corey following close behind, nodding in agreement.
