"Hey Luke." I heard from behind me as I closed my locker, their squeaky voice making me cringe at the thought of it being her. But as much as I hoped it wasn't, I had to be right.

"Hey, Bri." I said with a forced smile, trying my best to not be annoyed.

"Hey, so I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies with me tonight?" She asked, biting her lip as if it would make me want to say no even more.

"Uh, sorry I have plans for tonight." I shrugged before closing my locker with a loud slam making her flinch.

"Oh- maybe later then." I heard her mumble sadly, making me smile a little before she spoke with her full voice once again. "Just know Luke, if you reject me one more time. I'm going to tell the whole school." She said sternly before turning around swiftly and walking away as if this was a movie.

"Shit" I mumbled to myself with a deep exhale. I know it wasn't my proudest moment but I really did have plans tonight, and that was to help my best friend on his date.

"Thanks for the ride again Y/n!" Caleb said before closing my car door, Nick waving with a bright smile as he did the same.

"Of course." You said happily, the second week of school going as smooth as you thought it could get. Especially after today, which would be the day that you would help Corey with her date with Nick. Which made you smile at the thought as you waved to your cousin and Nick before backing out of the driveway.

Taking the short-cut out of Caleb's street, I was able to get home in seven minutes which gave me a little more time to get ready before I helped Corey get ready. She said that she would be coming over about an hour after school finished.

Thirty minutes later...

The doorbell's melodious tune rang through the hallway softly as I put on my socks. Sliding down the hallway, I made my way towards the door and opened it after seeing Corey's text on my phone letting me know that she was here.

"Heyy!" I said dragging out the word as I motioned for her to come in. "Are you ready for me to do your makeup?" I asked happily.

"Yeah, kind of nervous for tonight though." She said softly as her gaze wandered around the house. "Are your parents home?" She asked nervously.

"No, they usually come home at about 5:30-6." I nodded. "But my siblings are, so don't mind the noise too much."

"Oh okay." She said, almost sounding relieved.

"Alright, how about I give you a quick tour of the house and then we get you ready?" I suggested, which she quickly accepted.

-

"Alright, we're almost done." I said slowly as I wrapped the last bit of her hair around the curling iron, a smile forming on her face as I spoke.

"Thank you so much Y/n." She said happily as I unwrapped her hair from the curling iron and unplugged it. "Can I take a picture?" She asked softly.

"Of course!" I said excited, before she quickly took a mirror photo with the two of us at my vanity.

"Can you send that to me?"

"For sure." She smiled, tapping away at her phone as I put all of my things away into a small caddy.

"Alright, I want to see your whole look." I said, prompting her to stand up and spin around in front of me. "Oh my gosh, you are so cute! What the hell?" I said in shock, having never seen her wear something so dressy.

"Thanks." She said confidently.

"Alright, text Nick that we'll be there in about fifteen minutes." I said as I gathered my essentials.

"Of course." She said happily, the light from her screen illuminating her face even more as the excitement started to flow through her.

We had just gone down the stairs when I heard my parents' voices in the kitchen. Eagerly wanting them to meet Corey, I grabbed her by the hand and almost basically dragged her.

"Ma, dad, this is my friend Corey!" I said excitedly. A smiling coming to their face as I let go of her hand.

"Hi Corey, we're so happy to meet you!" My mom said as she put out her hand, which Corey gratefully shook. Doing the same with my dad as well, bringing a smile to my face.

"It's so nice to meet you guys as well." She said kindly, making my parents nod in satisfaction.

"Sorry that we have to leave so soon, but Corey has a date that she has to go to." I said quickly, and with that they waved us goodbye for the night.
