"Dude hurry up were going to be late for class." Nick said trying to not sound out of breath. His old skool vans hitting the pavement as the two boys rode towards the school.

"How much time do we have left?" Luke asked concerned.

"Seven minutes." He sighed, turning the corner. The school's front parking lot in their view, and from the looks of it a lot of people showed up on the first day.

"Oh we got this." Luke scoffed in response to his best friend's worrisomeness.

"I'm trying to not have any absences or tardy marks this year." Nick said sharply before skating in front of his friend quickly, in order to make it through the double doors on time.

"Okay... fine." Luke said softly before pushing off the ground harder as the two approached the school.

-

The two of them made it to the school with three minutes left of passing as they made their way through the crowded halls to their respective classes.

"Alright, I'll meet you..." Luke started, waiting for his friend's response before the two part.

"By our lockers?" He asked.

"Sure."

"Alright see you there." Nick said as he waved goodbye and off to start the new school year.

-

He started running as fast as he could to his first class once he realized that this year was going to be the year that he would actually try in school.

He could see the classroom towards the end of the hall and started to slow down, looking at the time to see that he had two minutes left.

His black converse making the nostalgic sound of tapping on the freshly polished floors that he knew would become a mess in a few days.

Right as he walked through the door of the class the bell rung behind him.

"Wow Luke you actually made it to class on time." One of the girls in the back scoffed.

"I had to make a good impression for the first day." He said flatly before taking a seat in the middle of the class next to one of his friends. His face clearly readable as annoyed, which his friend had taken note of as he greeted Luke with a mellow nod.

"Thank you for showing up on time Luke." The teacher said annoyed by his antics from his past years of teaching him.

"Of course." He said seriously, yet still being able to make most of the class laugh.

Well almost everyone.

The girl that sat in front of him who just shook their head with a scoff.

Ignoring her, his eyes moved onto the teacher who started talking about the expectations of the class.

-

"Hey." Luke heard from the girl who made the comment as he made it into the class. Keeping his eyes focused on the paper in front of him he ignored her.

"Hey, Luke." She had said a little louder, making the people around the two look at them. Luke remained focused with his eyes glued to the paper deciding not to give in to her antics so quickly.

But this time the teacher had heard her. His eyes glaring at the two of them through the round frame of his bifocal glasses. His words stopping, making the rest of the class' attention draw towards them.

"Why is there so much hype about you?" The girl in front of Luke asked slightly annoyed that he had been the roots of all the interruptions so far.

"Excuse me?" Luke responded in confusion of the girl's short tone.

"Leave him alone." The girl behind Luke said sassily, rolling her eyes as she spoke.

"He's not into you girly. Just thought you should know." The girl in front said quickly with a sarcastic looking smile before looking at Luke with a glare that could kill someone. But that didn't seem to intimidate him as he had mouthed out the words 'thank you' before she turned back around to look at the front of the class.

"Alright girls calm down, we don't need a fight on the first day now do we?" The teacher said looking at the two of them simultaneously before turning back to the whiteboard in front of all the annoyed students that had wished that there had been a fight and continuing on with the syllabus.
