A Date?

Stephen and Gray sat across from each other at the small fast food restaurant. It wasn't exactly the best place, but it was close enough they wouldn't have to take the bus.

Stephen was beaming, he liked how this "date" with Gray was going. And he liked it even more knowing that Gray had proposed it.

After a while, their waitress walked up to take their order. She had long blonde hair and bright emerald eyes. She probably wasn't much shorter than Gray and was nearly as thin. Her skin wasn't as pale and her face was quite obviously make-upped. She had long, thick, black eyelashes, and eyeshadow and concealer that complemented and outlined her features. She was a very pretty girl. And around their age too.

However she smiled a bit too much and was a bit too happy to take their order. She gave Stephen an awkward feeling, he didn't really like her all that much, and especially disliked the way she looked at him. After getting their order, she immediately rushed off to the kitchen area to hand off the information.

Gray was staring at Stephen but he couldn't figure out wrong, "She was flirting with you." He said bluntly while pulling on one off his shirt sleeves. He had changed out of his pajamas before they came and into a white collared shirt with and a black long sleeve shirt to go over it. He always dress so nice...

"Really?" he asked, "I don't think so.."

"Mm-hmm, I know these things," Gray smiled, "And I bet she'll give you her number if you smile at her."

"Well," Stephen shrugged, "I'm really not all that interested in her." He tried to say it as nicely as he could but it still came out somewhat rude, like he was trying to prove a point.

"Really? She's quite pretty." Gray sounded as if he was trying to sell a point.

"Aww Grayyy," Stephen tilted his head, "Are you trying to get rid of me so soon?" He joked.

Gray smiled and opened his mouth as if to say something, but he was cut off by the sound of his phone vibrating. He had gotten a message. Stephen quite expected Gray to answer it and it would be one of those "Oh I got to go sorry" kind of ordeals. But to his surprise, Gray reached his hand over and flicked the switch on the side of the phone to put it on silence.

Stephen sat there for a moment then suddenly recalled something.

"Hey Gray?"

Gray looked back at him and away from his phone.

"Can I have your number?" He asked. It had been somewhat of a problem not to have it before and he'd like to bother him more often.

Gray's face flushed with a pale pink, which he soon pushed away with a smirk, "Are you hitting on me?"

Stephen returned it, "Is it working?"

"Maybe..." He replied, dragging out the word in a sweet and cute kind of way, and gently extended a hand. Stephen filled it with his phone.

He silently wondered what Gray would set his contact name as. Probably Gray Yeon, he doubted he'd just get a first name. The boy was always so formal.

Gray handed the device back and Stephen's prediction was correct. With a smile he quickly changed the name, 🖤Gray🖤

By the time he had finished, the waitress had come back with their food. And after another glance at Stephen she walked back behind the counter, talking with a couple of her female co-workers.

They didn't order very much, it was just a light meal, so it didn't take long for them to finish. They chatted and tactically flirted at each other, just for laughs of course. Stephen loved this side of Gray, such a contrast to the cold, scary, person he had first encountered when moving in to their flat.

They continued until the waitress came back the waitress came back.

The girl handed the receipt to Stephen along with a pen. His eyes ran down the paper till they stopped, his expression changed a bit as he put the money to cover the food with it and then wrote something at the bottom of the receipt and handed it back.

She at first picked it up with a bubbly smile, but upon looking at it her smile dropped. She looked a bit crossed and then stalked off back behind the counter.

"Ready?" Stephen asked, grabbing his drink.

"Mm-hmm."

They walked together back to the flat, making small talk as usual. Until one particular subject came up.

"So what happened with the waitress? She looked mad." Gray asked curiously.

Stephen smiled at him, "Well she put her number at the bottom of the receipt, so next to it I wrote 'Sorry no thank you'." Maybe I should've wrote something nicer...

"Well why'd you do that?"

"Well you see," He started, and Gray already knew he was about to do something, "I already got a number today, and the number I got is from someone wayyy prettier than her."

Gray giggled, "You're so stupid." He said somewhat lovingly, and obviously joking.

Stephen put his arm around Gray's shoulders and pulled him a bit closer to him.
