Of course, the talk of the school was the fact that Isaac was now back in school, not being a person of interest for the death of his father anymore and, of course, having him back, meant a lot of trouble for Scott and Stiles, which, apparently for some reason, meant a lot of trouble for Diana too.
"All right." Stiles said, taking his seat beside Scott in their shared Econ class as Diana moved to sit in front of him to hear him too. "I only found one thing online called a Kanima: it's a Werejaguar from South America that goes after murderers."
"That thing was not a jaguar..." Scott said.
"Yeah, and I'm not exactly a murderer." Stiles said.
"Yeah, but you did see it kill somebody, which is probably why it tried to kill you." Scott said.
"Well, it didn't try to kill Diana."
"And trust me on this... It could have." Diana mumbled, as Scott sighed.
"Maybe Diana wasn't the target that night." Scott shrugged. "But maybe it will be. And then it's still trying to kill you both, and it probably won't stop until you're dead."
"You know..." Diana rolled her eyes as she exchanged a look with Stiles. "I wonder to this day why I became friends with you."
Shrugging a little apologetic, Stiles sighed as Jackson entered the classroom as well and moved straight toward them, taking a seat just behind Stiles.
"Hey, Testicle Left and Right..." Jackson called, causing both Scott and Stiles to turn around to look at him, offended. "What the hell is a Kanima?"
At his question, Scott, Stiles and Diana widened their eyes, snapping their heads in Jackson's direction as the boy just raised an eyebrow, unbothered.
"All right, listen up!" Coach Finstock started to the class just as Scott leaned closer to Jackson to ask him how he knew about the Kanima. "A quick warning before we begin our review... Some of you, like McCall, might want to start their own study groups, because tomorrow's midterm is so profoundly difficult. I'm not even too sure I could pass it! Okay, I need a volunteer at the board to answer the first question. Who's got it, huh? Come on, let's go, buddy."
As one of the students went up to the board at Coach's request, Jackson started to talk.
"I didn't really know the name of it until today when I heard Isaac and Erica talking about how they wanted to test Lydia today, but last night, Derek grabbed me and took me somewhere and he tested me." Jackson said, as Diana frowned. "Like, he made me drink this weird tasting thing."
"Well, did you?" Stiles asked.
"Kind of had to, considering Derek was pretty much shoving it down my throat." Jackson complained, as Diana rolled her eyes, not really in the mood for his dramatics.
"And?"
"I don't know, he said it worked." Jackson said. "I was paralyzed from the neck down. Do you have any idea what that feels like?"
"I'm familiar with the sensation..." Stiles said, as Diana nodded along.
"Very much so, actually." She mumbled.
"Wait..." Scott frowned then. "Why would Derek test you? Why would he think that it's you?"
"How should I know?" Jackson asked.
"Wait, do they think it's Lydia?" Stiles asked.
"I don't know!" Jackson complained again. "All I heard was her name and something about Chemistry..."
"Jackson!" Coach Finstock called, as he approached the chatty little group, causing Diana to spin around in her chair and look down at her notes to avoid being caught up in whatever mess Jackson possibly put himself in. "Do you have something you want to share with the rest of the class?"
