The rest of X777 rolled by without much happening for the members of Fairy Tail. Nothing new happened until X778 when the guild gained three new members and Laxus also made it to S-Class. After he became S-Class, Emily noticed that there were times when she wouldn't get to see Laxus much which caused her to train even harder to try and make the cut for the S-Class trials when they came around again. The next two years went by pretty quickly for the members of the guild. Everyone was getting stronger and new rivalries started to form. It was currently May of the year X780 and Emily was tending to the garden that she had planted in the background of her's and Laxus's house. She had started the garden as a way to keep herself busy when Laxus wasn't around and when she was tired of training. It started to become a way for her to relax when she was stressed out. Her attention didn't leave from the flowers until she heard footsteps approaching only to be followed by a scent she knew all too well which caused her to get up and run to the front of the house.
"Laxus! You're home!" Emily said as she jumped on him hugging him.
"Hey Em. Sorry I was gone for so long." Laxus said as he hugged her back.
"It's okay. I'm just glad that you're home. It's been lonely without you here." Emily said as she looked up at him once they released their hug and she took a step back.
"Have things been that bad since I left?" Laxus asked with a raised eyebrow as he looked down at her.
"Not really. I mean Mira's been annoying as usual. And it's seriously getting on my nerves." Emily answered as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Her teasing and claiming that she's going to win your affection gets worse when you aren't here."
"I've told her time and again that I'm not interested in her. My heart already belongs to someone else. I just haven't told them yet." Laxus said while smirking. "Could it be that you get jealous when she does that?"
"Me jealous? Yeah right. She's just an annoying kid who needs to learn to shut up." Emily said, looking away with a blush on her cheeks.
"You are jealous." Laxus said, laughing some as he pulled her into another hug. "It's okay to be jealous. It just shows how much you care about someone."
"Damn you Sparky." Emily muttered into his chest as she hugged him back.
Laxus laughed hearing her old nickname for him while he held her close. Although at the same time hearing that she was jealous of what Mirajane said whenever he wasn't around made him realize even more that she shared the same feelings towards him that he felt towards her. It brought a sense of security to him to know that she felt the same way since it meant that he actually had a chance with her when he could finally get the courage to ask her out. But for now he was content with where they were at. Even if some of the guild members already made assumptions about them being together.
Emily kept her face buried against Laxus's chest. Especially to hide the blush that had covered her cheeks. She hated how easily he could see through her lies. It annoyed her but at the same time it was a trait of his that she loved. He knew her better than anyone else to the point that he could tell when she was lying. She was indeed jealous of Mira always trying to get his attention. Jealous and angry that the white haired mage always tried to rub it in her face that she would get a boyfriend before her. She hated it so much. Even with knowing that what was said wasn't true. Especially since Emily had a hunch that Laxus had feelings towards her just like she did towards him even though she wasn't sure about it.
After a few minutes they separated from each other and went inside. Laxus went to take a shower while Emily went to the kitchen to start cooking dinner since she wanted to treat Laxus to a home cooked meal now that he was back. She decided to finally cook the two steaks that she had picked up from the store a few days prior but had been waiting to cook. She seasoned the steaks after pulling them out of the fridge and taking them out of the package. After seasoning the steaks she put them into a skillet on the stove before beginning to get the sides going. She decided on some potatoes and veggies. Once she got them all cut up and tossed into another skillet she seasoned them as well before turning both burners on.
