A few days had passed since the day that Emily and Laxus had been ambushed by members of Phantom Tower. They had let Makarov know what had happened and left him to try and make a plan on what they could do. In the meantime they tried to stay together as much as they could and when Laxus was gone on a mission Emily stayed around Erza since the scarlet haired warrior was the only one that the redhead had told about what had happened and what had been going on with the fight with her father. Currently Emily was sitting outside on the balcony around the second floor of the guild looking out towards the lake behind the guild hall. She had a lot on her mind with what had happened and how aware of her feelings towards Laxus that she had. A sigh left her even as she heard footsteps behind her.
"Seems like the master was right about you being up here." Erza said as she walked over and stood next to Emily. "Is what happened still bothering you?"
"I'd be lying if I said no. Laxus told me that I got weird when I saw him get tackled and pinned to the ground by members of my father's guild. I took them all out along with the two who tried to take me." Emily explained as she held her right hand out and a small swirl of water formed. "My dragon slayer magic and instincts went out of control seeing him getting hurt. I completely lost it. All because they were hurting someone so dear to me."
"You're in love with him, Emily. That's why your magic and instincts went out of control." Erza said as she placed a hand on her friend's shoulder. "You wanted to protect him no matter what."
"I'm in love with Laxus?" Emily asked, looking at Erza completely shocked. "But that can't be right. I've known him since I was little. He's my best friend. Why would I be in love with him?"
"I can't answer that for you. That's something only you can find the answer to." Erza answered before turning and leaving her friend alone with her thoughts.
Emily watched Erza leave before turning to look back out at the lake. What Erza said was running through her mind. She couldn't believe that she had fallen in love with Laxus. Her best friend. Her childhood friend. It was hard for her to believe. Especially since it made her worry if their friendship could be ruined if she told Laxus how she felt and he didn't feel the same way. But the more that she thought about it and how she had been acting around Laxus the fact that she had fallen in love with him started to make more sense. Especially when she realized how she had been acting around him for the past year. Blushing whenever he walked around the house without his shirt on to being nervous but calm whenever he held her close. She let out a sigh and a laugh as she looked up at the sky. Letting the water in her hand dissipate.
"I guess Erza is right. I really am in love with Laxus." Emily said as she kept looking at the sky as a smile crept onto her lips.
Meanwhile down in the guild hall Laxus and the Thunder Legion had just returned from the job that they had been on for the past couple of weeks. Laxus had immediately started looking for Emily before hearing from Erza that she was out on the balcony of the second floor. He thanked her before heading up to the balcony to check on Emily since he was a bit worried about her and what could have happened while he was gone from the guild. When he got to the balcony he stopped and stared at Emily. He had to admit that she looked absolutely beautiful standing there looking up at the sky. The way that the sunlight hit her made her hair shine and the way that her water left her hand just added to the beauty that he saw in her. After a few seconds he cleared his throat to compose himself before making his way over to her.
"Hey. You okay?" Laxus asked as he walked over to her and stood next to her while looking at her.
"Laxus. Yeah I'm okay. Especially now that you're back." Emily answered as she leaned against him with a smile on her lips.
